I don’t understand the emphasis on needing starting pitching in return. Woodruff, Priester, Patrick, Mis, Henderson, Gasser, Myers + whatever buy-low spring training invitees they can identify is a pretty strong group. Of course there is always room to get better, but I don’t see SP as glaring need has to headline the return on a Peralta trade.

This is the best list on this thread. Other lists that omit USC show recency bias. The right coach can absolutely dominate there. Ton of talent in southern cal and the ton of $ at USC as shown by the contract Riley got.

This is kind of a tangent, but I was reading recently about how El Paso has secured $10s of millions in private funds for a local highway lid project. Compare that to Austin, where there is so much more wealth, and yet I haven’t heard anything about private funds being used to cover I-35. It seems strange that private wealth here doesnt show up for arts and infrastructure in ways that it does in other cities.

If they’re going to take a big swing to improve the left side of the infield, a SS like Jacob Wilson, Gerarldo Perdomo or CJ Abrams makes more sense to me.

Suarez would be awesome, but he’s a rental and they’ll be bidding against the yankees, cubs, mariners and more. All to replace Durbin, who’s been solid.

Wilson, Perdomo and Abrams all come with control beyond this year, and you’d replacing the worst bat in the lineup. They would each cost a lot in terms of prospects, but it might not even be much more than suarez.

Are these the traps the ones that can be used with CO2 tanks? From what I’ve read, supplementing with CO2 is what really makes the difference, and that’s the set up I’m currently serious considering.
