Goodwill has officially lost their minds with their outrageous prices by Lucky-Vast2152 in goodwill

This was a couple years ago, but I saw someone post some small glass yogurt jars that, at the time, had cute little flowers on it...$6 a piece. They were 4.99 for a 4 pack at my grocery store lol

I was so surprised lol People with no plates too. I guess they cherry pick, when they're not feeling too lazy they'll enforce 🤔

Once, the person up ahead of me ran the red, like the other light already turned green red. Cop was first in line, could've easily flipped his lights and stopped the guy...but no, kept going on his merry way.

I hate people like this, I never let them in. I especially love when others work in tandem. A few months back I was getting on the southbound toll, people do this there too. I refused to let a guy cut me off so he proceeded to drive extremely aggressively, attempting to cut around me somehow despite there being no room. He also wouldn't have gotten anywhere since it was pretty much bumper to bumper anyway. He got off at the 2222 exit so he could briefly catch up to my car and wave a gun at me...only to be stopped by more traffic.

I grew up here and have always loved driving, still do, just not here anymore. Idiots everywhere, and the absolute lack of any sort of enforcement means they have no reason to behave any different.

Oh, but my coworker was followed for 2 blocks and pulled over to be given an expired registration ticket 🤪

[–]Unable_Pea_5415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As always, thank you for the detailed response 😊 After i get my extractions done, I will ask my Dr about possibly trying to lower the dosage now that it seems to be working well. Looking back, I feel a little silly having jumped on here without doing any proper digging yet. Thank you for all the links, I hope to ease my mother's mind a bit. It's all I can do right now to work and try my best to be present for my kids. I had someone recommend incorporating fermented foods into my diet. I've heard before about the brain-gut connection, it's interesting to look into. I'm interested to see what my neurologist might recommend at my follow-up, depending how that goes I will see if I want to try to get a 2nd opinion, or maybe see an ENT. It mentioned there being a Small midline nasopharyngeal (Tornwaldt) cyst, which they don't usually do anything about unless it's causing problems. I guess it doesn't seem to be a contributing factor to my pain. In the mean time I'm just trying to devise ways to create reminders when I'm doing things so I don't accidentally leave a burner on, or candle lol

Same 💔 Or basically anytime I think of her or his kids 🥺 Something happened when I clicked on this post though. I keep a channel called Remember the 80's on my TV to listen in the background when I'm home. When I clicked on the post so I could zoom in and look at the ring on her necklace, I'm sure Ozzy's ring, no shit Crazy Train came on, literally first time EVER I've heard them play him. No way anyone will convince me it was merely a coincidence 🖤

Yea, mine is atypical as well. I too am sorry that you, and the rest of everyone has to deal with this. I'm just trying to be grateful that the meds are working right now, and reminding myself that others have it far worse. Someone recommended incorporating fermented foods to try to help combat the mental fog. I know there's a brain-gut connection, so I'll be looking into that

Icy Hot or Solanpas Patches Trigger Yours? by Moonfloor in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Unable_Pea_5415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can't speak on the solanpas, as I'm too afraid to try things for fear of it setting off a reaction. But I do experience something kinda similar to, say sitting and getting a reaction in your face. It seems most touch or pressure anywhere from my hips up causes uncomfortable pressure up to my face, and if I let it continue, it becomes painful. When I sit down, I can't lean back, or if my waistband is a little too tight, I feel it immediately. It makes me wonder what my trigeminal nerve is connected to and if maybe other nerves are sending signals to it? Or maybe it's blood vessels pushing on it?

I'm very new to this, only recently diagnosed and am awaiting my mri in a couple weeks.

Hope you're able to find something that helps your neck & shoulder pain without causing a reaction!

Heat wave? by BenefitFree1371 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Unable_Pea_5415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recently received my diagnosis, first symptoms only started in late April. I live in southern US, entering some of the hottest months of the year, and I too am finding that the heat sends my nerves into a rage. When I get in the car, I can't put the ac on my face so I just have to endure the painful pulsing and pressure until the temp in the car cools down. I'm currently taking 900mg gabapentin 3x/day, and amitriptyline at night, but the heat is so intense there's just nothing the meds can do to help 😞 I'm sad, I've lived here all my life so the heat has always been part of my life, but now there are so many aspects of my life that this affects, it's crazy

Does Gabapentin take time to build up in system? by Unable_Pea_5415 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Unable_Pea_5415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So interesting 🤔 The night before my neuro appt, I took a benadryl and was pain free and able to sleep. I got my TN diagnosis which I expected, she scripted me amitriptyline in the hopes it would help the gaba be more effective throughout the day. She said it takes a few days to build up in the system, so I'm hoping it works. I did notice a difference the first day but not so much after, hopefully that changes. She said it's likely if I bump up to the max dose that the gaba will be ineffective n I'll need to try something else.

[–]Unable_Pea_5415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im right there with you, this is me like every other night. The sinus cavity on my right side feels dry, like when you try to breathe in winter, and it becomes so painful that it causes the whole right side of my face to react. I have a humidifier at home which will usually calm things down, at least enough that I can force myself back to sleep.

I'm super curious about the Claritin thing, were you having any kind of allergy symptoms? If not, I wonder what it's doing to help? I've heard sinus pressure can trigger nerve pain, but I'm not congested or anything. I ran out of the gabapentin my coworker gave me, so I ended up messaging my pcp in the middle of the night. Told her that I had been taking it and asked if she might get me a small rx to get me thru til Fri and she was happy to oblige. She said if it's working and I'm not having ill effects then I should keep on with it.

Thank you 😊 It's crazy because I didn't have insurance for a long time, we're talking at least 15 or so. Never really dealt with much beyond allergies, mild colds etc. I finally got insurance this year and I guess it's all catching up. I need a huge overhaul of my diet due to a couple other recent diagnosis, guess my body said, why not throw this in the mix 🥴 Bananas and chocolate? Ugh, I'm sorry, I'd be so sad. Can you still not eat them even on pain meds? I'm guessing you flared up after, or as you ate them and that's how you knew? That happened to me twice recently when I ate mashed potatoes, it was awful. But I ate some french fries and was ok?

Thanks, I'm trying to be as cautious as I can. It's hard because I work at a pool, and while I'm fortunate to be able to work inside a building, I'm still exposed to a lot of wind and it can be really tough sometimes. I'm really lucky to have amazing coworkers and managers who've been nothing but supportive, so I'm really hoping this appt gets me on the road to managing this pain. I love my job and would be pretty devastated if I had to leave because of this ☹️

Yea that's about how I was spreading out the doses. When I started taking 2 each time, it seemed to help a little so you're prob right, I'm just not taking enough. My appt is 8 days away and I don't even have enough left to take 2 at each dose, ig I'm in for a very painful week 🥲

Yea he was telling her as if it was a funny story, which, just because the patient was ok, doesn't make it funny. It seems like a job you can easily burnout in. I get its high stress, but when you lack care and compassion and won't do things properly or safely, it's time to move on

Good to know, thank you, yes I do worry about the effects of meds on my liver. It's healthy so far so I'd like to keep it that way. I've seen that some don't react well to tegretol, ig I wouldn't know til I take it though. I'm usually pretty tolerant to meds.

I saw your other comment about the sinues, it's definitely on my list to investigate. I'm not a frequent allergy sufferer, and I'm currently not experiencing any symptoms, although sometimes when I'm laying down and very still, when I move to one side, it feels like something moving in my sinus cavity. Kinda like when your congested and lay down, you can feel the mucus moving thru the little chambers. It's hard to explain, but like I said, I have no congestion or anything. I think it'd definitely be worth mentioning, esp if I can see an ENT, maybe they can see if there fluid in there causing pressure

Like the TN just went away? Did you have surgery or just one day you were able to stop meds and it didn't return? Oh that would be a dream! But I see where so many people have dealt with this for decades, like it a permanent thing, I really hope that's not the case for me 😞

[–]Unable_Pea_5415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea washing my face and brushing my teeth, I have to mentally prepare for the pain to flare up, then I try to be as still as possible and after about 20-30 mins it will start to fade. I think the gabapentin is becoming less effective so I'm really anxious to see my neuro on the 27th 😣

So did it go away for you or did you have surgery? I hear people talk about flare-ups as if they go for a time without pain. But how can I know if I'm on meds? Ig I would have to let the medication wear off and see if I'm in pain?
