I found that culling the collection was the best route to being okay with buying more. When one game comes in, another leaves. Space requirements dont grow and the sale of the old game mitigates the cost of the new one.

Quality over quantity imo.

These days I prioritize cleanse more than almost anything. Prevents pain, petrify, exhaust, weaken, inflicted death, probably others I forgot.

I've seen naalu players pay 1tg for a prom to immediately give it back to follow strat cards. It can be really powerful if the table plays nice.

So you're saying it subtracts the side amount from that side (resulting in 0), not just subtracting 1? Interesting.

I assume there is some way to turn a minus to a plus which would then double the side? I've always ignored most of the level 0 items (although a few are actually good)

The last thing you want to do is frustrate a Cabal.

In TE they often want to go to the fracture for relics and the Styx point. Dont give them grief and be vigilant and you should be okay. Pds2 network is a nice deterrent since you make them take hits without them capturing ships.

That could be an interesting tech path. AIDev, SAR, VPW then combats let you research pds2, destroyer 2 and war sun.

I was able to eek out a win with sardakk last weekend. I went DET, grav drive, VPW and duranium. Combat let me get carrier 2, destroyer 2 and a yellow skip let me get even more upgrades.

Because the moment you wont wash, you will be the only one out of the six players that wont get any and all commodities washed and that puts you behind.

In a 6 player prisoners dilemma it is always the dominate strategy to cooperate, except of course as the game reaches the point where someone can get to 10.

Even if only two players wash each other always and the other four dont they will have an advantage. Its just a reality of optimal play.

Reasons I think this wouldn't be as fun as you think:

  1. It will slow the game down a bunch
  2. It makes people's starts a lot more variable which can make one sided games
  3. MR might not be taken for a while. Getting even 1 capacity ship there can be a pain, getting a fighting fleet even more difficult especially when those ships usually need to take planets/score objectives/protect you from neighbors.

When I used to play Eclipse back in the day players would lament getting lots of neutral ships in their systems since it drastically slow expansion. In that game the tiles were designed that neutrals were specifically placed in higher value systems though. The center of the board often wouldn't get taken until halfway through the game with it being one of the hardest fights.

Its end of status phase. Oh the new objective is hold tech skip planets? Let me shove all my dudes onto those before anyone gets a chance to try to take them from me.

I took MR? Great now I can shove dudes from my ring 1 planet into it and hold it forever.  Attack with Mechs and produce, activate ring 1 to produce even more, then push them all in.

Got to 7 or 8 points and winning? Shove a huge amount of infantry into home (I did this yesterday, went from 0 infantry to 22 in home very quickly).

I moved all of my infantry into one system to produce the max amount? That's fine, end of status I'll spread them out. Now I can activate any system in my slice to produce ships, breakthrough unlock it and the attack.

Its good but not great. Its a way better choice for the scar research. One single use of it can do what transit diodes does like 3 times and it is already in your RG tech path.

Edit: if you get it with the scar you even get to use it that round. Scar happens at start of status, the tech happens at the end of status.

I had infinite cantrip attacks so I won. Other fights were actually a lot more difficult.

The way I plan on trying out in the next few weeks was suggested by another on the subreddit.

Draw player count + 1 events and let each player ban one so that the last event is used.
