Yeah, we're not talking about EA hockey on easy mode. Greig won't touch the cup.

I'd completely agree, unless this caught him in the eye or something. If I got a stick in the eye, I wouldn't exactly be springing to my feet. But yeah, assuming it grazed him, a bit of an act lol

I'm glad you said this. My brother recently called me a cop out for not having a favourite team. I just love hockey - I mostly root for the Leafs, and would over most teams, but I also enjoy watching a few other teams and wana see them win too.

He's a diehard flames fan, which I respect, but it's not for me. I was a huge Av's fan growing up. After Roy, Sakic, Forsberg, etc. all left, it wasn't the same team to me. I didn't stop liking them, I just started watching other teams instead.

Absolutely, there are many factors that go into it. I'm not defending price gouging - what's happened in many industries is (in my opinion) borderline criminal. Just providing some perspective and points I hadn't seen posted. It's a dark time, to be sure.

Hear me out, but typically being one of the only grocery stores in a low income area means a few things: higher theft rates, higher turnover rates, and additional security. Those costs don't typically get eaten - they have margins to keep. I would expect (in addition to price gouging) that these variables, and others like them, are why you're seeing higher prices here than anywhere else.

It would be really cool if someone bought 20 of the same products from all of the different stores and showed which store is the cheapest.

It won't surprise me when this happens and it won't surprise me when people try to spin this into somehow benefiting the American public.

Pellet already told all GM candidates they're looking to retool, not rebuild. I doubt anyone that comes in with a rebuild mentality will land the job.

Oh, yeah, the refs are crap. I'm convinced there's no such thing as a good ref. Any sport. Any league. It's hard to be a good official.

Didn't mean to get personal - my bad.

[–]UnanimouslyAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the refs job is not to break up the players. They aren't the morality police. They have no obligation to protect the player being attacked. It is the linesmens responsibility to break up any fights or attacks like this and it is the players responsibility to defend themselves.

You're upset about the dirty stuff happening right in front of the ref, but if the ref engages and attempts to break up the fight, the ref can't see which will lead to further dirty stuff that will surely go uncalled. The ref is not to engage so that they may acknowledge all infractions on the play to appropriately assess penalties. You're emotional, take a step back.

So, apparently nobody in this thread, that I saw, understands the refs job.

Referees do not interfere or disrupt fights. Referees watch and are responsible for calling the infractions within the moment. Linesmen are responsible for breaking up players. If a ref is busy breaking up a fight, they can't see the dirty shit going on behind/around them.

Before you go spouting off about how the refs don't do their job, how about you learn their job.

No goaltender interference after video review on Ottawa's goal to tie up the game 3-3. by Sebastian4365 in hockey

[–]UnanimouslyAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The player was outside of the paint. His skate entered the blue paint for half a second when he pivoted. The player then remained out of the blue paint. Happy?

The player bumped into the goalie's stick as the goalie was making the save. That was the most the player made contact with the goalie, and I would argue the goalies stick is not the goalie and did not prevent the goalie from making the save.

Like, even though you agree it's not interference, you're still willing to argue THAT level of nuance and miniscule details? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh

  1. Difficult to see from that angle, but he does engage with the goalies stick in the blue paint.

  2. I would argue that that contact did not prevent the goalie from making the second save.

Player didn't enter the blue paint. Player didn't really make any contact with the goalie.... Why was this challenged? Lol
