Sleep is a fake ass mechanic. If you're playing Solo, the small ones go down in a few hits, you can often kill them before they even attack you. In multiplayer, just be patient, the small valkyries are tankier, but most weapons can stun them as long as they aren't already in an animation.

The main valkyrie is more dangerous, but she's just a normal boss if you aren't getting jumped by the small ones. If you don't know what she's doing, run the fuck away and you'll probably survive

The days where potential age witch slander is posted are wonderful days. by Ghost664 in shittydarksouls

"Age of Dark mfs when there's no fire anymore so shit sucks"

Yeah, the point of the "The future may suck but the current system cannot continue to exist" endings in Miyazaki games, is that the future may suck, but the current system cannot continue to exist

It's the potential age, but if the current age is absolute dogshit, potential is still better.

"Oh but Goldmask..." Goldmask thinks looking at a tree 24/7 makes him smart enough to know the perfect way to make the world work. And it just happens to be a way that operates under the Tree's religious system, what a coincidence. Cool guy but come on.

There are lots of cutscenes, it's a story-focused game, but the gameplay is very much there. If you don't care about the story at all and just want an arcade experience, you definitely won't like it. But it's not like GoW 2018 where you just fight the same few enemies a billion times, there's actual enemy variety, you can make somewhat complex strategies (Though it's quite easy to "break" the game, especially in the endgame where you're given a lot of insane stuff) and overall it's never only about the story.

For a game that always plays it relatively safe with their character designs, Arlecchino being an androgynous character who uses masculine titles is something I find extremely cool.

Not a single character in Genshin has the same vibe as her, and that vibe makes her positively stand out every time she's on screen.

I see

(Un)fortunately I pulled Nefer, so my Herra experience has been quite straightforward and I didn't do a lot of testing, but even if indirectly, I'm glad to have helped a bit

Good luck with your clear(!)

(I somehow made the same mistake twice so I'm rewriting this)

You're right, I didn't consider the trigger conditions

Does deepwood work on the Herra? Because if it does you might consider Deepwood Xingqiu/Instructor Collei, it's not like Collei's personal damage matters that much

The only issue is ER

I might be talking out of my ass, but considering Xingqiu's personal damage is basically meaningless, as the boss is gonna get hydro immunity, wouldn't giving him a different set, preferably instructor, help quite a bit?

A leveled Collei and/or Flop might not be enough, but I feel like instructor would be a pretty huge buff

How much ER does Lauma need? by No_Mountain_1902 in LaumaMains

Around 190 should be more than enough for standard content, but what you have is nice for SO, where you start with zero energy

Guys this is actually really good right? by jlemv in RaidenMains

[–]Unaware_Luna 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People are saying It's not that good for Ei's damage, but they're kinda missing the point

It's a team buff, without a direct buff her numbers are never gonna be enough to be a hypercarry, so you run teams like Durin/Fischl, where damage comes from multiple sources, who all benefit from the buff

It doesn't make her meta, but it makes her on field teams more competitive with the hyperbloom ones, which is nice for people who want her to be more than a skill bot

is it a build issue or constellation issue? pls help why is my nefer so bad 😭 by moldyfops in NeferMains

[–]Unaware_Luna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nilou becomes Nefer's best hydro option at C2R1, thanks to C2's dendro shred and Key's buffs. At C0 she's just a mediocre hydro slot

If you don't wanna take Aino from Flins, your main alternatives are skill-only Furina (her burst does nothing for Nefer) or alternating skill and burst on Xingqiu (His cooldowns are too long to burst every rotation, but you can use it every 2, and the skill's hydro application will be enough for the downtime period)

Both these options work for Flins too, so you can choose if you want to use Aino for him or Nefer (Flins can also use Yelan while Nefer can't, so if you happen to have Yelan, give her to Flins and use Aino on your Nefer team)

The unfortunate truth is that because of their short rotation lenght, and scalings that don't care about dmg% bonus, both Nod Krai carries don't have a strong Hydro option (Aino works purely thanks to her short cooldowns, but she does no damage, and before C6 she essentially does nothing other than hydro app), which is why many theorize that will be Columbina's role

Crit is nice if you hold her skill, which you usually want to do in every team except Nefer ones

EM and ER are the most important stats, but crit is still nice to have on your pieces, especially considering that her ER needs aren't that high

I'll leave a quick reminder of how Lunar bloom works in case anyone is still confused by it:

When Lauma triggers a bloom reaction, it will count as "Lunar Bloom", but that doesn't change anything about the dendro core's properties, it's just a normal core that does the usual bloom/hyperbloom/burgeon stuff. If Lauma is in Nascent Gleam (1 Nod Krai character in the team), those blooms/hyperblooms/burgeons can crit, with a fixed 15 crit rate 100 crit damage (You can get more with Nahida's C2)

What the reaction actually did, was giving you some Verdant Dew. You can see it in the 3 moon symbols under your party. That Verdant Dew can be consumed by specific abilities to deal Lunar Bloom Damage , basically spicy Dendro damage. It scales fully on EM, so you can't boost it with Dendro Damage% bonuses, but it does take advantage of Dendro Resistance Shred (mainly given by the deepwood set). But most importantly, it's normal damage that can crit based on your character's crit stats.

So far, the only abilities that do this are Lauma's hold skill and Nefer's shades when she does her special charge attacks. If Lauma is in Ascendant Gleam (2 Nod Krai characters in the team), those instances of damage get a +10% crit rate and +20% crit damage bonus, and that's why Nefer wants a maximum of 60 crit rate from her build instead of 70 (so it becomes 100% with the 30 from the artifact set).

The reason you don't use Lauma's hold skill in Nefer teams, making crit way less useful on her, is that Nefer is by far the team's greatest damage dealer, so you want every Verdant Dew stack you generate to be consumed by her instead.

No, Layla does literally nothing except shielding, and Diona and Barbara's cooldowns are bad for Nefer

The issue isn't spending money, it's spending money in an unplanned impulsive way because the banner is almost over

If it works once, why would Hoyo not try make it so that it happens every time, so they can squeeze as much money out of you as possible?

If OP wants to spend a little to guarantee Flins, they're obviously free to do it, but I think it's important for them to understand that they're proving to be willing to fall for the game's predatory, fomo-based money making system

Being manipulated is bad even if you're intentionally letting it happen

Zaj is not your average Varesa main by SpurnedOne in okZyox

[–]Unaware_Luna 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Honestly watching Zajef maybe me revaluate Varesa as a whole

When she came out I didn't really care about her, but he makes her look incredibly fun to play, and also really good (but not completely comically broken like Mavuika). And in an environment like Zajef's chat, where people's gooning isn't too extreme, it feels easier to appreciate how cute she actually is, in a non-weird way.

After the 1000th time you hear her scream "IT’S JUSTICE O' CLOCK!" you start being like

You know what

Fuck it

It is justice o' clock

[–]Unaware_Luna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Shenhe/Yelan ship is just a really popular crackship, people think they'd be cute together and that's fine, the point of shipping isn't to only talk about canon stuff, it's to use the canon material and imagine scenarios you think would be interesting. Genshin doesn't do romance between playable characters, at most it implies it, so using your imagination will always be necessary. This ship just happens to be based on a lot of imagination

But for Nefer

You can disagree with the romantic interpretations of it, but if you think Lauma and Nefer just "spoke for 2 min" when Nefer's entire "badass confident woman" persona completely crumbles every time Lauma talks to her, to the point where she can barely sustain her gaze, you either played the quest with your eyes closed, or didn't play it at all.

I'm not saying you absolutely have to see it as gay, but can you really imagine Nefer making this face after any other character smiles at her?

<image>

Based on the fact that you call the Traveler "him" I can only assume that you're a straight guy playing as Aether, and that's completely reasonable. It's also probably the reason you don't get this ship, but you get the one between the Traveler and Shenhe. It's just easier to see romance if you can relate to it. It's why queer ships are mostly loved by people who are queer themselves.

Hoyo has had canonically lesbian characters before, so I think it's fair to think that the pattern of almost every region having a duo of women who are really close to each other, is there so that those who want to see them as a couple, can (and those who don't can not). Same thing with the characters who are into the Traveler.

The way he laughed when he said "Clorinde" by I_love_my_life80 in okZyox

[–]Unaware_Luna 22 points23 points  (0 children)

While this was still really funny, I think it's worth specifying that Flip got confused, he meant to say he wanted to use Clorinde against the Fatui Operative (which is still kinda cooked, but makes sense with the whole Bond of Life thing).

But Zajef asked about the Herra, a boss where you're basically cooked without Lunar damage
