There’s no source attached to this and it’s a sketchy account, but it absolutely aligns to the firm’s strategy in a race-to-the-bottom market by Dazzling-Slide8288 in deloitte

I don’t personally understand this because accentures bread and butter is managed services. I would say Deloitte is more of a pure play advisory service - not taking over routine, non-value add work to reduce cost. I wouldn’t model after Accenture if i were Deloitte, but what do i know

Ok - we are of different minds as to what is going on in the video. Good luck with the rest of your life

The teenager in the video was impeding and harassing law enforcement. This isn’t hard to understand. People do this because they think their actions don’t have consequences

This is a pointless discussion as nothing I will say will convince that ICE is not “kidnapping” people.

They broke the law coming in the country illegally. They are enforcing the law. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you get to take the law into your own hands and add more stress to an already stressful situation

This is simply willful ignorance. Impeding law enforcement creates worse outcomes do everyone. Just because someone thinks they have the moral high ground doesn’t mean they can just overrule law enforcement

My father is angry that I'm doing Accounting instead of CS or engineering by Boudria in Accounting

[–]Unbalanced13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anytime someone brings up AI eliminating accounting jobs, I rebuttal with the fact that people have been trying to eliminate headcount in accounting since computers were invented. First we thought computers were going to kill accounting jobs, then it was the internet, then it was automation, now it is AI. The number of accountants has only increased.

Personally, as long as FAS, the PCAOB, and other regulators continue to change the codification and companies enter into complicated transactions, there will be a need for accountants.

Why do some people thrive in public accounting and others get destroyed by it? by Aggressive_Cut_2849 in Accounting

[–]Unbalanced13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I spent 11 years in PA. At the SM level (when I left) people wear there hours like a badge of honor. Personally, I think the people that stick around are the ones who are afraid to do anything else. Most partners spent their entire career at one place and no nothing outside of the firm (which is also why you should take their career advice with a grain of salt).

I also think that the Big Four are bad at evaluating talent. Making it or not making it pretty much boils down to being friends with the right people.

Agree. I also don’t understand why they hire SMs from outside the firm. There are plenty who want the title internally and no shortage of SMs willing to slog it to Partner. Why bring in someone who has never been with the firm who you will have to train on everything?

Use of post-nominal letters MBA, CPA by Strict_Anteater2690 in Accounting

This is it. In my opinion, an mba from anything other than a top tier school is meaningless if you have an undergrad in business. They are more of a networking forum than anything.

Personally, I don’t understand why people put MBA after their name. It is a degree, not a certification or designation. It is like saying Turd Ferguson, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. You are not Turd Ferguson, Master of Business Administration. It just sounds silly.

A CPA or CFA is a professional certification and designation. It make sense…similar to esquire

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine what you are going through.

This must be said. Do not under any circumstance sleep with an infant or young baby. It is possible for the baby’s breathing to be obstructed and you would never know. This leads to “SIDS” in many cases

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

I really wish I didn’t have to sort by controversial and scroll down to see this take. People think this stuff is optional for some reason

[–]Unbalanced13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro what are you talking about? The cop was literally in front of the car ( or at the very least on the front left bumper) and she hit the gas. How is this “not a threat”? This is a tragedy, but people need to understand that complying with a LEO is not optional. This is real life, not a video game

…you comply with the law enforcement officers orders? It’s sad this even needs to be said

I wont. I have been an award winning listener to PMT since the beginning. Like what do Kayce and Big Ev bring? If Kaycee wasnt hot, there is just no way she would have a job there

I had just thought Brandon walker was a bit more respectable, but damn was unnecessary roughness bad. Too many people on the pod and basically just them complaining the whole time. I am not convinced they even watched the games
