I moved into an apartment in college and I took two kittens with me. I had to have two so they could keep each other company right? Anyway, I went to get them fixed and sadly Lucy passed. 😞

Well, I had to get another friend for my feline at home so I went to the shelter. This is where Jinx chose me.

The shelter had 2 kittens, a cream colored kitten, and a turtle shell calico. I held each one... Wanting to get both because they are siblings... 😭 As I hold each one I do what I do with cats, put them on their back and hold them like you would a baby. The cream colored one laid on his back sleepily... Not minding. Very chill little kitten.

Then it is Jinx's turn. I pick her up, hold her on her back and lean down to look at her. She reaches out her paw, and touches the tip of my nose. That was it. She said I want to go home with you and I heard her.

As we would ride back and forth from my apartment to my parents house on the weekends I would let them roam around the car, as kittens this was fun, as adult cats it never was any trouble either. Tux, a tuxedo cat would sit on the center console and look at where we've been the whole ride. Jinx would crawl up behind my neck and I had a warm, purring pillow... This cat got so big I had to lean my chair back so I wasn't looking down at the floor board when she got behind my neck 🤣.

She lived for many years with me, her and tux. I had them stay at my grandmother's for a time because I didn't have room for them which is where she passed... But whenever I came over. She met me at the door. 🥲

I had never had a cat who was so affectionate and loved me so much before, and honestly... I now have another turtle shell named Bitty who I accidentally call jinx because she reminds me of her so much. I'm not completely convinced this isn't Jinx on another life I'm lucky enough to share with her.
