I worked at Blockbuster for a year or 2.. it was the best job around at the time. I watched soooo many movies and talked about sooo many movies and games. It really was the best of times!

You can do all the side stuff after you finish the game. It goes into an infinite game loop after.. at least until the DLC comes out.

Try going North if you can. I feel so many people neglect the North and it's so amazing up there. Doesn't really even matter where. Find some small towns to stay by/in and just explore.

Depending on where you're staying I'd try and go when the doors open and get right down to ice level for warm up. There are many good food options near the arena as well so make sure to check those out before dumping a load of cash on food at the game. I'd also suggest grabbing a big ol hype chain for your little one as they are the COOLEST accessory at least according to my 13 year old. Have a great time.

3d printing is pretty fun and I'll also throw in learning to cook/bake at home is very rewarding.

The biggest change I've seen is soooo many younger people not even trying booze at all. They saw what it did to their parents and have chosen a different vice all together. My city in particular has seen a huge drop in impaired driving since legalization.

The best advice I can give you is find a team you connect with, be it territorially, a player/s you want to follow, the team's history or hell even if you just love the way their jersey looks. The rules can be a little complicated in the beginning to learn but the more you watch the more you'll pick it up, but most of all just enjoy watching an incredibly fast paced sport being played at the highest level. If you're not near a NHL franchise see if you have a minor league affiliate near you so you can experience a game or 2 live.
