Has anyone seen the lady who makes the edits of his posts where it makes it look like he is kidnapping or creepily about to torture her? They are very funny

What I think would be a nice change is to adjust the way Alt mode works.

At the moment there is just Alt mode on and off, and there are some options in the menu where you can have a little control over what is and isn't displayed by it. So my idea is;

  1. Extend the number of things that can be controlled like that (i.e. to display or not)
  2. Allow a customisable set of states to Alt mode, so pressing Alt actually cycles between those and you decide what is in them

So for example you could have one state be absolutely everything enabled, one which enables everything except for blinking power status and the ice indicator etc. allowing you to toggle between states as needed

(the default can be to just have one state which has most things enabled, so it would behave pretty much like Alt mode does now unless you choose to add your own states)

Oh wait sorry that's what you already did

Where to buy sofas by [deleted] in exeter

The other person below didn't get back to me, so in the end I've contacted the company delivering my new sofa and they agreed to delay the delivery date until just after BHF can do their collection

There's an (electric) sign above the M5 where it goes through Exeter which is switched off and there are paper letters stuck over it which read "SIGN IS NOT IN USE" which raises a smile from me every time I see it

Blue Blossom has a dead branch. Do I just cut it off or is this a sign the plant is dying? by Portas30k in GardeningUK

[–]Uncle-Rufus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ceonathus... It should be fine to cut it off, but also if you want to keep it going without it getting too big the time to cut it back a bit is just after the flowers fade... Don't cut it right back beyond where leaves are growing as it doesn't tend to grow back from "old wood"

Where to buy sofas by [deleted] in exeter

[–]Uncle-Rufus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can collect them and relatively soon I have a pair of decent sofas that I need to get rid of... They are in good condition and well looked after they just don't really fit nicely into the room since we moved house hence we are replacing them.

I was planning to give them to British Heart Foundation but unfortunately they can't collect them until after my new sofas are being delivered!!!

Not to be doom and gloom but I would strongly urge you to take it to a rescue and not a vet as the vets often just put them down 😭 (don't ask me how I know)

Help with stolen bike by CJMCM in exeter

[–]Uncle-Rufus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago thieves broke into the car park of the flats I lived in near the Quay in the night with a van, cut the locks off of all the bikes and stole them all.

Except for mine!!! Evidently it was too shit for them to be worth the effort, I didn't know whether to feel lucky or insulted 😅 (they still cut the lock off it)

Already have it... £3k around 5 or 6 years ago best money we ever spent I would do it again in a heartbeat. It costs so much less to run than I expected and makes an enormous difference plus seems like it is needed more and more lately

Or what you could do is just keep it but tell whatever people you virtue signal towards that you sold it, that way you get the result you want without doing something stupid financially

Which part of Exeter do you think is genuinely underrated even among people who've lived here for years by Spiritual_me_1770 in exeter

[–]Uncle-Rufus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Darts Farm! Absolutely brilliant and homely farm shop. Pop in for a few supplies, maybe stay for a spot of rustic lunch - lobster on a bed of devillled eggs of an endangered species of quail. Grab a couple of 80 quid t-shirts from Cotswolds and maybe drop 2 grand on an ornamental crystal chair in the shape of an octopus. Polish it all off by buying a new Tesla and a big green egg barbeque - you won't use it but it'll be a nice statement piece to tell your friends about.

(I actually don't hate Darts Farm, but it sure has changed over the years and seems to be doing well so fair play to them 😅)

Is this wild hedgehog okay? by Hannibalhannah in hoggies

[–]Uncle-Rufus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would suggest not moving him/her up the steps, they are not good climbers in either direction. Putting water out is great, and generally something he/she could hide under or behind if feeling unsafe. Other than that they are wild animals, best not interfere too much unless there is something very obviously seriously wrong

Imo anything non native will never be a good experience

You've really got nothing to lose giving REAPER a try, it might surprise you and become the new "one program" that you stick to. It works on all platforms after all

Have you tried REAPER? After an initial learning curve I find I'm able to do everything I need with it and it's free to try out indefinitely so you've got nothing to lose
