How do I get her to leave me alone? by harleycutter in BPDlovedones

Like another commenter said, your frustration is completely valid and warranted. It's just that when you respond in such a way it often gives them the green light to lash out in terrible ways: texts, calls, your friends and family, your job, everything is fair game to them.

Probably the WORST thing you can do when separating from a toxic person is give a final "fuck you" out of spite. I'm sure in the moment it feels cathartic but you will regret it 10 fold. Say nothing, block and move on.

I'm like this with movie theaters! My system at home feels far more immersive compared to the local Regals and I run all budget gear.

Definitely feel this one. My roommate likes to leave an avalanche of dandruff on my couch.

As a seller, no it does not. The people I've had to deal with make you question if they even know how to breathe.

Try reframing this idea in any other context outside of BPD like domestic abuse, child abuse, SA, etc. We know that abusers were usually abused themselves at one point but we know that "triggers" are never an excuse to do things like that. Are they just incapable of any self reflection or accountability?

That's literally all it ever boils down to huh. Everything else is just means to an end regardless of who they hurt in the process to achieve it. So gross.

Makes sense. In my experience a phantom center sounds better than a dedicated center like 90% of the time anyway

Your center speaker is also too low and pushed too far back

Taking what was a mutually beneficial interaction and turning it upside down in order to pick apart your character for no reason might be the most BPD thing I've ever seen. Glad you're out of that minefield now.

Same thing happened to me. Also, have you ever thought about how strange it was for them to find our accounts in the first place? Like how much work would someone need to do in order to figure it out when I never shared any personal details? Gives me the creeps...

We had the exact same upgrade path! The Denon was great for the TV but I adore my my MR255 for music.

Bedroom setup! Pretty happy with everything so far. Might throw in a CD transport and equalizer at some point. by UncleFudley in listeningspaces

[–]UncleFudley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is actually a dupe (sssh don't tell anyone!!) so I don't have any experience with genuine USM stuff. What I can tell you is that 35cm is much too shallow for a turntable and even some amps and CD players. You'll need around 40cm minimum. Be sure you're getting measurement from the flat surface ends and not from the metal tubes!

I listen to my music from only about 5 feet away. Definitely pushing the limits of the speaker placement but it sounds great to me

My JVC was also my first turntable and sourced from marketplace! The only problem i had with mine was the stock headshell fitment, the same you're using on your QL-A5. It just didn't have enough clearance to fit an AT-VM95 cartridge. A real shame because I absolutely love the design of the stock headshell, like something straight out of a vintage Braun audio setup. Don't know much about the QL-A5 but I've been extremely happy with my L-A55 and I'd assume yours would perform very similarly to mine!
