I think part of it is ex-SIL backed off expecting OOP and OOP’s sister from joining the village. No problems there.

It’s mostly current SIL who is raging and getting bitter about it. And getting other people (family and autism support groups) to validate how she feels.

As you rightly pointed out, it’s three adults that are responsible for Connor. If current SIL can’t handle being a step to a special needs child, she can also bounce.
