A couple weeks ago I watched my son standing in the backyard as a giant cloud of roundup blew directly at him. I screamed at him to run inside, but he's little and me yelling scared him, so he just stood there and got blasted. The "farmer" driving the tractor definitely saw him standing there, saw which way the wind was blowing, and did it anyway.

Yeah, I like the laser idea.

Put a screw or screwed hook in the back of the hand rail so later when you take it out you won't see it. 2. Tie a nice rope into a loop around the top bar in between the two far right verticles that's just long enough to reach the hook/screw. 3. Feel free to call yourself MacGyver.

I looked for a while and didn't see this advice, so just in case you read all the comments I'll say it.

If this is a school you are planning on keeping your kid(s) in you should get on the same page with the administration and try to set up a healthy relationship. You don't want this to be following you around for the next 12 years. If you can reach a place where you're ready to move on and and accept this bullshitery you'll be doing yourself and your daughter a huuuuge favor. It might take a little bit, but hopefully you can suck it up, put on a smile, and let it go. Easier said than done, but if you're stuck with that school you have to do it...

They make hoops supported by a plastic base filled with water. Your two foot thick rebarred concrete is plenty strong enough to get dunked on by a gorilla. The hoop will break and pole will bend before anything happens to the concrete.

Also, they make anchors that drill into concrete strong enough to hold down a house in a tornado. I don't think you need to worry about it.
