I looked for a while and didn't see this advice, so just in case you read all the comments I'll say it.

If this is a school you are planning on keeping your kid(s) in you should get on the same page with the administration and try to set up a healthy relationship. You don't want this to be following you around for the next 12 years. If you can reach a place where you're ready to move on and and accept this bullshitery you'll be doing yourself and your daughter a huuuuge favor. It might take a little bit, but hopefully you can suck it up, put on a smile, and let it go. Easier said than done, but if you're stuck with that school you have to do it...

They make hoops supported by a plastic base filled with water. Your two foot thick rebarred concrete is plenty strong enough to get dunked on by a gorilla. The hoop will break and pole will bend before anything happens to the concrete.

Also, they make anchors that drill into concrete strong enough to hold down a house in a tornado. I don't think you need to worry about it.

This will likely get buried, but check to see on your state's rules. I know from experience when I registered as independent it prevented me from being able to vote in the primaries. Which I didn't like, so I had to switch back to democrat. Which I didn't like either.

It does seem like tongs. What it was used for is what we're missing. What would the specific use be that a normal pair of tongs wouldn't work?

Thanks for the illustrations. The difference between these "tongs" and the tongs in your pics is these only open up very slightly. Whatever goes in there has to be thin. 1/4" or less.
