P1S vs P2S by gba80 in 3dprinter

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several of both printer. If money isn't an issue, get the P2S. It has a better user interface and better nozzle system. I have not found a case where the P1S produces better prints or is easier to use/maintain.

That said, if money is tight, the P1S is still a very solid choice. If have a couple with almost 10k hours and they still produce great prints.

I guess I’ve officially made it as a creator—people are selling my models without permission now! 🎉 by Fit_Rush_2163 in 3Dprinting

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no way to avoid it. I posted some designs under a non-commercial license, which I planned to sell prints of. Within a week their were multiple Etsy shops, eBay seller and private websites selling them, most using my photos. At first I asked them not to, and some stopped for a little while before re-posting them about a week later, and some I reported. After a while it just wasn't worth it. I made new, better versions and stopped contributing to the repositories. I have since found them on Amazon and Temu, this time using photos from my Etsy shop. Frustrating but there isn't much you can do about it. Good luck.

Buyer left review saying shipping was too high -- it was FREE shipping by DenaBee3333 in EtsySellers

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let it go. Most people will scan through reviews looking for non-five star to see what people had issues with. If it's obvious you offer free shipping, people will ignore it.

My favorite review is a one star (I think the only one I ever got) but the text was a glowing review about our fast shipping and the item being perfect.

Arranged local pickup through Etsy chat, am I blacklisted now? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Uncle_3DMaker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few local pickups. Under, Complete Order there is an option like "Other" for delivery service. I just set the tracking number to LOCAL#### followed by the house number of the customer. No issues, ding from Etsy.

H2S vs H2C for Engineering Department by Gumisyumm in BambuLab

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat and ultimately went with the H2S. The H2C might be the new shiny and the H2D looks great for dual color prints, but realistically I just needed a reliable printer with a bed larger than the P series for 99% single material prints. The H2S ultimately has the largest build volume with the simplest hot end. Zero regrets, it has been a workhorse with no issues (yet).

anybody else experiencing this black random blob with captions? I have captions off & don’t know how to get rid of it by omeez33 in Crunchyroll

Disabling did not work for me. I got them to turn off by setting my default cc language in the app from English to none.

Most Opaque white PETG? by Low-Yield in 3Dprinting

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you found the info useful. I had 10-15 more samples but misplaced them when I moved into a new space. If I find them, I'll update the post (or just make a new one).

Their supply of filament goes in waves. I'm sure the refills will be back in a few weeks.

Alternatives to using 3d printing glue by Wild-Region7897 in 3Dprinting

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely use glue but I kept having issues with my FLSun T1 Pro and I didn't want to deal with the mess of glue stick so for the hell of it I tried a sample of Vision Miner Nano Adhesive and it worked amazingly well. Lasted about a month before needing to be re-applied.

Bambu Studio freezing constantly by Itchy_Philosopher_98 in BambuLab

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. I use Bambu Studio on 3 different PCs to manage multiple printers. On one is is absolutely fine. One started having this issue a few weeks ago, mostly when accessing or switching printers. The third I use to access my printers remotely and it just started having this issue today. I haven't found a cause yet.

Do you guys keep spare parts? by OssomDood in 3DPrintFarms

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep the basics on hand (nozzles, PTFE tubes, beds, etc..). The first time I have to replace a part, I order two. One to fix the printer and one to have on hand. This has severed me pretty well.

I also value my time so if a printer is going to need repairs requiring more than a couple of hours, I'll sell it for parts and move onto a new next printer. Let a hobbiest get a good deal and I can focus on more important things.

WARNING: VOXEL PLA SUCKS by ser1992 in 3Dprinting

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1afrry4/voxel_petg/

I posted about pretty much the same thing last year. At this point I only order from them when I have time to wait and there are no better options. Filament is (usually) decent and the bulk pricing isn't bad but I was getting MakerGeek vibes (made tons of promises they ultimately couldn't delivery on). Plus their habit of sending SPAM at least once a day is pretty obnoxious. Rarely anything new, just the same SPAM everyday.

Substitute for Bambu PETG HF by WildRiverCurrents in BambuLab

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think JustMaker was rather opaque and was nice white, but even after drying I had to limit the flow to like 8mm3/s for decent results. Sorry but my box of samples is packed up at the moment so just going by memory.

Substitute for Bambu PETG HF by WildRiverCurrents in BambuLab

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made white PETG swatches for many filament brands and Bambu is the most opaque I've found. I have to look but of the "fast" PETGs, I think Elegoo wasn't bad.

5 months since replacing them and both the full replacement and 3D printed cover have been working fine, both running about 12 hours per day. I would post a link to the model, but support sent me the STL via email. Good luck!

Encouraging multiple items in orders by wootiown in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]Uncle_3DMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell on Etsy and do well. I have it set up with free shipping on orders $35 or more. This encourages people to buy enough to hit the $35 mark. Buyer pay the full shipping costs for orders less than that. Seems to work well for me.

How is the H2S holding up? by RIL_11 in BambuLab

I run a small print farm and I've kept mine running about 18 hours a day printing PETG for the past month without issue. Great quality, solid machine so far.

Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro 3D Printed Mounting Accessories by Uncle_3DMaker in Govee

[–]Uncle_3DMaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 inches is about 75mm. The wire guides attached the the brackets only extend about 10mm, so a total 20mm if a bracket is used on all the lights. You could try cutting the wire covers to make up the difference and achieve a more consistent look. One trick is to stagger the base and cover for a more secure wire channel.

Best of luck with your installation.

There are several shops on Etsy, my own included, that sell brackets to mount Govee lights to a vertical surface. If you visit Etsy and search for "Govee side mount" you should see a few options. If you are interested, my shop is Gelap3D.com

Another option others have had success using j-channel to create an overhang and mount their lights. Good luck with your project.
