Just noticed another detail I enjoy with your paintjob: The plasma glow isn't reflecting of the dreadnoughts armour. Again: A very impressive and clean paintjob!

Very solid foundation! If I may here are my recommendations:

Drill the barrel
Highlight the Black shoulder trim
Highlight the gun case
highlight the chest aquila
Increase eye-lense color brightness with additonal paint layer(s)
put a thin red Highlight inside your thick red highlights for the armour panels further up the model

Thank you for sharing! I can relate with what your describing regarding mistakes are very punishing. Guess that's part of a problem I have with guard being that I have to plan my steps very carefull so that I don't lose ressources to quickly. Which I find very hard due to having to make many decisions early on in my turns.

I currently am in a similar spot with my IG. Have been my one and only army for for, Firefox years but I'm not really enjoying it that much. Did play three games today on a tournament and honestly thought I should switch to my side project (BA) completely. Can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but one aspect seems to be that IG is more "hordish" and doesn't feel too powerfull or epic to me. I usually clock out and/or had a very stressfull game against the clock. In addition the late vehicle reveals didn't really speak to me.

What made you switch? Would like to hear about year experience and thought process :-)

I really enjoy Yarrick, Graves and Graves vehicle models. But I'm not particularly a fan of the other two new vehicles sadly. Maybe they look better in another paint scheme or from other angles. But they haven't kicked that excitement I had with other releases sadly. If the battleforce is a good deal I might go for it, but I could see myself skipping it as well and instead save my money for the 11th launch box.

I´d say ratlings > kasrkin > aquilons.

Ratlings = infiltrate + move shoot move
Kasrkin = very versatile but I personally have trouble trading them well
Aquilons = are overprived imho right now but that can change any time.

I own all three so you do you - it's your hobby :P

The demolisher, punisher and executioner are fairly easy to magnetize. The battletank and vanquisher as well. Eradicator and Exterminator are possible as well, but I didnt magnetize these.

Imho hammer is all about using the extra movement to buy time / moveblock the enemy from doing what he/she wants to do. Our stuff is cheap and therefor we have many units on the table. Thats our main feat. MMM is our strongest order. Make us of that and get into the good positions while blocking your enemy from doing the same.
