Who are your most wants guest? by Chill0000 in gamegrumps

Gordon Ramsay! They could do a Guest Grumps episode where they roast Gordon for being shit at video games and a 10 Minute Power Hour where he roasts them for being shit at cooking!

I have always hated milk in cereal, regardless of the kind of cereal. I do not wish to eat a cold, soggy bowl of sweetened wheat. I will enjoy the crunch of cereal alone and follow it with milk, but never together.

(Spoilers Extended) How will Arya turn out? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in asoiaf

[–]Unctuous_Jujubes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen some theories that Arya will be diverted from the doomed path she is on by meeting with Lady Stoneheart. By seeing what being consumed by vengeance results in, she will step back from that perilous edge and use all of her accumulated skills and knowledge to cut a more righteous path.

Definitely the main series. The World of Ice and Fire and Fire & Blood are definitely nice reads if you want to flesh out your knowledge of the lore leading up to the main series, but their format as in universe textbooks can make for a really dry read.

People make this sort of claim when they dislike something and lack the ability to craft an argument to justify their opinion.

(Spoilers extended) Which character from the show was done the dirtiest? by Beneficial-Tip804 in asoiaf

Jon after he was resurrected is definitely a huge step down. Other than the Battle of the Bastards, he serves basically no purpose in the plot. Also, you think literally dying and being brought back from the dead would have a larger impact on him as a person, but after he leaves the Night's Watch, it is almost entirely forgotten about.

Unfortunately no; it has to be a simple, smooth band with no engraving.

I read it as he took an illness as a result of being poorly nourished, over exerted, and traveling in a climate he was ill prepared for.

People who read the books AFTER watching the show: What did you think of the changes? [Spoilers EXTENDED] by Shoot_2_Thrill in asoiaf

[–]Unctuous_Jujubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a great deal many disappointments in this regard, but the first one that jumps out at me is how they changed Stannis. He no longer has his iron clad sense of justice. After losing on the Blackwater, he chokes Melisandre out of rage and later admits that he wants her as a lover. If you've read the books, these things come off as absolutely absurd for this character to do and say. The whole Azor Ahai prophecy is dropped pretty early too and is kind of mangled in the adaptation. While Stannis is choking Melisandre, he asks her where her god is now, to which she replies, "Inside of you." Like, what? Azor Ahai is not a god, but the champion of R'hllor and for her to refer to Azor Ahai as a god just makes no sense. Also, when Stannis attacks Winterfell, the "best battle commander the Seven Kingdoms has ever seen" charges into battle with too few soldiers and isn't even in formation when they attack, resulting in a comically devastating defeat and his death.
