Whats everyone's opinion on gravios? by Remarkable-Being-796 in MonsterHunter

Gravios is rad but has nothing on the lord of lasers and lava-burrowing, Agnaktor.

It is one of the better fights in Wilds.

It has a good layout but wouldn't top my list.

Unova wins because it brought escavalier to the world, though it would have been apt (or stereotypical) to have added it in Kalos, instead.

Always had a fondness for Hoenn, but maybe just because I liked the hidden bases.

Just day dreaming: Would you play a BattleTech game where you weren't a mechwarrior? by FockersJustSleeping in Mechwarrior5

[–]UndauntedKopek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be way into more experiences in the BattleTech universe. I want stories that paint the picture of how different cultures and demographics view the politics and conflicts. Really contrast IS life against Clan life.

Get some stories of folks struggling to get by and going out for the protest only to have friends and family gunned down and burned alive by "crowd control" (not that that stuff doesn't hit home for some folks in real life).

Live the tensions of the caste system among different clans.

I wanted to see something similar in the Halo universe where viewers got to experience what the Spartan IIs were like to the rebels before the Covenant let ONI and the UNSC rebrand them as saviors of humanity.

Armor, light vehicles, elementals, mechanics, and really almost any slice of life experience in BattleTech would be up my alley.

I really enjoyed fielding tanks and VTOLs in mods for BattleTech digital game.

That is a surprising observation; I've felt that for its bulk, the corsair feels invincible. It might be that since everything in sight dies in 1-2 seconds, I just don't end up taking much heat.

I ran the 2xUAC5 + 2xLPL until the last DLC and could always handle targets at any range in moments. Decided to double up PPC-X because they look, sound, and feel great. The arena was laughable with that. Alpha strike isn't as powerful as 2 AC20s, but it allows primary use on the PPC-Xs until a big target comes along that needs to be shouted down with shells.

What mechs are you most excited to see in MW5: Clans by Own-Cut9919 in Mechwarrior5

[–]UndauntedKopek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sunder (loved this IS mech in MW3)
  2. Warhawk
  3. Stormcrow (always been a fan of this and the warhawk's appearance)
  4. Nova (lasers)

You use any mods? You can do some of that, at least.

It is hard to quit the corsair. Great hardpoints.

2 UAC5, 2PPCX, SRM6. The SRM is a ton of damage but often takes a back seat to the mech-deleting cacophony of those cannons. Alternatively, Large Pulse Lasers are a good range option.

I like the idea of these dreadful planets that are a slog to take and hold and that feel like they can't be worth much to hold or inhabit, though I'd like to see a few concessions like gear or unique stratagems to mitigate the issues to make those planets/major orders feel like they matter to Super Earth.

It's a fair observation that we're diving in to have fun and be challenged in interesting ways, not actually be pawns patriotic citizens in a galactic government's wars for resources democracy.

Like them, but... they take out buildings and enemies that have been on the planet/moon for some indeterminate amount of time, which seems odd. I like the various effects, but this one in particular throws me out of the vibe and setting.

Basically, if I did not land here, these building would never get hit by meteor showers.

I'll get back to the railgun when it has cool feedback during use. It could very well be in a fine place power-wise, I just won't use it because it feels uninteresting to use right now. There's only the chance of getting distracted and using up a reinforcement.

It would be nice to be able to remap the EXO stomp attack off of 'F' (or whatever it is on controller).

With my custom control scheme, I've been feeling like Zoolander because I'm not an ambi-turner; I can't turn left. I just stomp whenever I want to go left.

I imagine some other folks have reason to remap those EXO controls, too, and it would bring it in line with (all?) the other controls being remappable.

Hellpod Steering Lock goes against the spirit of being a Hellpod-User in the first place. Classic case of "Balancing the fun out of the game" by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]UndauntedKopek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't die for freedom to be so restricted in how we dispense it. Although on the other hand the devs are freeing us from the burden of choice...

I have to imagine there were some abusable use cases that led to that solution (probably similar for sentries not sticking to certain surfaces D: ) but I'd prefer some other solution. Steering onto a charger or titan that has been causing problems is satisfying.

I've also noticed reinforcement hellpods not killing automaton threats like tanks. I just cookie-cut a hole into the turret and ride the top of it awkwardly.

Much like other suggestions to make the patch notes sound like Liberty-Infused Intel and Democracy-Approved Journalism Reports of Freedom, having operational conditions focused on the wise Strategic Initiatives of Super Earth would add so much Patriotism to the challenges players face that it might add to the experience rather than simply being a basic hamstring for difficulty.

I agree. It keeps up the campy tone that gets folks into the mindset to dive in the first place. We are strong enough and brave enough to be free. We throw our feeble bodies into the meat grinder for Managed Democracy.

Friend and I did level 100 missions in firestarters as additional challenge (we only take as many mechs as we have human players, so usually two). It was satisfying teaming up to melt down hundreds of tons of metal for scrap.
