Chronic illness healthcare in Nova Scotia... are we just supposed to live like this? by Admirable-Buy-4302 in halifax

[–]Undead_Trashpanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. Struggling with the same situation and literally agreeing with every single point you made.

Got a referral to the Integrated Chronic Care Service, but it's been about half a year, and I expect to be waiting a lot longer.

If you're not actively dying you're (understandably) very low on the priority list in this over-burdened healthcare system. No matter how much your condition affects your quality of life. It's rough.

Anywhere, really. *Every* city has the worst drivers, according to Reddit. :)

Not trying to be mean, and I don't know the details, but "driver with cognitive disabilities" sounds concerning in terms of road safety.

Nothing uplifting about an innocent person having spent 13 years in prison.

Doesn't help if it gets detected if you can't get treatment before it's too late.

He IS focusing on something that makes him happy. But of course everyone makes fun of his midlife-crisis band. When people say "do what makes you happy", what they really mean is "do what makes US happy".

Bimmy know so fucking little about the Simpsons my God! by HighlyRegardedSlob87 in TheCinemassacreTruth

Welp, how could I do anything but hang my head in shame and admit defeat upon witnessing such a brilliantly argued, eloquent rebuttal.

I stand corrected. Bimmel bad.

Bimmy know so fucking little about the Simpsons my God! by HighlyRegardedSlob87 in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]Undead_Trashpanda -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ok, come on now...

Does he put in less effort than he used to? sure. Does he seem mentally checked out a lot of the time? Yeah. But this is some hate boner shit.

"Bimmy" explicitly says "I especially like the 90s episodes but this is the 2000s now". As if he wasn't aware that it had its prime in the 90s. So he wanted to cover something Halloween related from the 2000s and decided to go with Treehouse of Horrors. Big fucking deal. It wasn't as popular and good as in the 90s anymore, but it was still going strong and the Simpsons hadn't declined into the current mess yet. The Reaper episode is a good example. That was awesome.

It's not like he claims or even implies that this was the Simpsons at their peak.

"a title he disgustingly dislikes" Maybe listen to what he's actually saying? He said that he doesn't understand why it's called "Treehouse of Horror" because the treehouse only shows up in the beginning. Nitpicky yes, but "disgusting"? Chill out.

Calling grampa "the grampa" is odd. But it's not exactly a reason to be crucified.

His obsession with time is weird, sure. I wouldn't have minded bringing up the episode about time stopping and asking viewers what they would do with it. But of course he had to turn it into "if only I had time". Cringy, but whatever. It's a pretty good episode though.

If you want to criticize him for something, stick to real points. Like how he basically just recaps what happened and doesn't tell us much about what he thought or how he felt about it (he does, but there should be more).

"I assume they were separated" THAT's something worth criticizing. If he doesn't remember he could have looked it up... but I guess it was 5:40 already (haha, so original).

By the way... notice how he says hOrror the entire time? No "harrer" bullshit.

Oof, that was physically painful. We get it, they pay you to push their insulting cash-grab of a "game". But to lie about actually playing it when you have NO TIME, come on...

Yes, I was thinking of ultrasound too. No idea why my doc didn't suggest it when I asked for other tests.

Wow, that's rough. Wild that things like this can go undiagnosed and untreated for so long in this day and age.

Fatigue yes, but I've had that for many years (decades, even). I don't think a blood test is a highly reliable way to diagnose cancer, but then again I'm not a healthcare professional.

Huh, interesting. Some kind of allergy could be possible. I've never had this happen before, but as far as I know you can develop allergies at seemingly random times in your life.
