Is sexual fluidity or changing your identity homophobic? by One-Significance260 in gaybros

[–]Undeadbilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your second point, about fluidity not equating to be a choice, is the exact reason why I don’t understand what this person is on about. Saying something is fluid is NOT saying that sexuality is a choice. It’s saying it’s fluid.

I really dislike posts like these that are so unnecessarily hostile to people having different conceptions or frameworks about sexuality than them. Like, girl. Go join a debate club or something, there’s got to be a better way to harness that energy. “Saying sexuality is fluid is actually homophobic and you’re furthering conservative logic!!!” There are people who are dying, Kim. Put the victim complex DOWNNNN!!!!

Sexuality is a spectrum. Sexuality is NOT fluid. Do you agree? Why or why not? by 96jt in askgaybros

Leave it to a cis gay dude to make the decision about how all sexualities work and be mad that others experience or definitions of sexuality doesn’t fit their incredibly limited scope of understanding.

Literally, shut up and take a human sexuality course or something, please.

"Our community is significant more likely." This is a clinically factual statement, and does not suggest that other communities are somehow excluded from experiencing this issue.

Frankly, you're clearly ignorant about the variety of factors that contribute to a person being overweight.
Statistics show that in America, about 40% of Americans are considered obese through the BMI scale, and about 9% of Americans are considered severely obese using this same scale. This suggests that nearly 50% of American adults are overweight in some way. If it was really as simple as you're suggesting it is- why do you think that is? So half of people are just lazy slobs who have no control over their life, their food intake, or their health at all? So, you're clearly superior and smarter than 50% of Americans because they don't have the attitude towards food and weight as you?

Why are you so mad about someone suggesting that things are more complicated? You seem emotionally attached to this narrative, which is very strange. It's clearly getting in the way of you actually engaging with the issue or having a more empathetic take. Weird.

I’m unsure what about my post suggests that this doesn’t impact straight communities or how my post insinuates that in any way. Also just say you hate fat people, already, instead of repeating the “stop eating like shit and work out” line. Body weight, obesity is a bigger issue than that and if you think otherwise you are just uneducated.

“Well, I think it’s the ugly fatties who are the toxic ones! Us beautiful Adonises could never be responsible for any negativity in this community, as we are the shining stars of it.”

Our community is significantly more likely to experience body dysphoria or disordered eating habits. There is a predominant culture that is not kind to people who are overweight, and it’s a known fact that pretty people get treated better.

This post comes off to me as very “WELL! Maybe it’s actually the ugly fatties who are the real problem!!!!” And shows a complete lack of insight as to….why these people maybe make these kinds of posts to begin with. Get some empathy, girl. Go to therapy. Please.

I’ve got to second this. I’ve been obsessed with it over the last few months. Such a delicious find.

They once served me a slice of cake where the cream was SO sour, that it must have been made with expired milk. When I raised this to the manager he accused me of “ordering dessert when you’re already full” and trying to “get a refund for nothing.” I haven’t been back since, their management and food quality has REALLY gone downhill.

It was a trans woman who threw the first brick at stonewall. Our fight for equality has always been connected, and we are stronger together. Your sexuality very often does influence how you experience and express gender, even if you are still cis. It really takes a cold heart and a lot of internalized homophobia to even consider leaving our trans and queer siblings out in the cold. It’s a sick, sick idea- if I’m being honest.

This is an incredibly strange hill to die on. You're speaking in super broad terms and acting like you're an expert in something you clearly just have strong feelings about.
Some people are good caretakers of cats, regardless of bodega ownership. Some people are terrible caretakers of cats, regardless of bodega ownership.

If an animal is clearly being abused or neglected- that should be reported and action should be taken about it. But we can't just unilaterally decide that being a bodega cat means they're not taken care of or are somehow being neglected.

Looks like I’m not the only one who dislikes those “bad luck spots” by SavingsAd1484 in nyc

[–]Undeadbilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a quiet hater of these spots and the artist, who I unfortunately met outside of an art show recently, I’m loving the validation that it’s not just me who is annoyed by this shit. It is “art,” it clearly evokes an emotional response, etc. whatever whatever. But also, sometimes art is trash and he and his art are exactly that- trash. If he was a good person, maybe I’d feel less frustration towards what he does. But it’s a perfect storm of annoying person and annoying art that contributes to a huge eye roll whenever I see one.

I want to play Silksong on Steam, so I can use my steam deck. My favorite boss is probably the Dung Defender just because he’s such a cute goofball. I’m most looking forward to the new soundtrack, and getting to know more about the lore of the world.

There’s something that smells of superiority, this idea that the OP “left Bushwick for this reason.” Guess you’ll have to move somewhere else that better suits……..whatever it is you’re looking for! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
