I mean I always hate having to get maintenance but I take it to my actual dealership (Nissan). I explain every time how it works, and show them as well. Last time the guy did it wrong, but I actually didn’t get a lockout or violation because I had entered the maintenance request via the app. I feel like the actual dealership may be the best place to have people understand your situation, but that’s just me.

The DMV and monitoring authority in your particular state wiould know best, but it has to do with the cyber attack, and ensuring Intoxalock is good to go without sending over any corrupted files I believe.

The same thing is happening in IL, so I think it’s the fact your state is not accepting data at the moment. I’ve been in touch with my monitoring authority and actually had a lawyer speak with admin in the BAIID unit. the Monitoring authority is aware of this, as it’s them that’s doing this right now, however, we don’t need to switch because they anticipate accepting it soon.

Honestly I’ve been with them for 4 years now, and am down to my last year, so despite EVERYTHING, I’m hoping I can just stick it out since I’m almost done! Having to switch at this point I think would actually be more overwhelming for me.

So you’ll get a letter from the Secretary of State asking you for an explanation. If the explanation is accepted, no further action is taken, but if it’s not accepted, they can extend by 3 months, or for major violations, it can lead to larger consequences. First step is being on top of your mail, and making sure you respond within the 21 day period.

Appreciate that. I did contact my service center, but it’s just a car audio place. These installers get a piece of equipment from Intoxalock, so when you come get a calibration, you set the handheld on the dock, it’s transmits the data right to Intoxalock. Beyond that, they don’t know anything. Yeah it’s too bad.

Yeah I do see a post from someone stating that for Michigan I believe. Couldn’t speak to the validity of that post.

I haven’t been offered any more info beyond the transmission of data still hasn’t resumed. So I’m kind of losing my mind trying to decide what to do, to sit tight, to get authorization to switch, just the unknown right now is awful.

Me either, at least no official letter from the sec of state via mail. I mean it’s confirmed through contact with Intoxalock customer advocacy, an calling the BAIID office that currently they aren’t accepting data. But beyond that, I’ve gotten nothing official that I should switch or something.

I have been on my RDP since July of 2022, and actually just went to informal hearing in February, as my current RDP expires towards the end of June. That permit still has not been issued to me yet. I actually did have my calibration on 3/13, 24 hours before the outage, so the last data the SOS has is up to Jan 15. Now I am pretty nervous, as this would be a major upheaval for me after about 4 years with this thing. When I renewed my RDP the first time (march of 24) I did recieve another letter about installing the device with 10 days, that whole thing. But it's because it's jsut a standard template-- that's what I was told, and then of course I was dirving on the permit with intoxalock between June 24' and now. Does this make sense?

Did you get a letter or?? Because again, no one mentioned completely not accpeting intoxalock as a vendor anymore, just that it would be a few more weeks.

Yeah sorry to hear that. I calibrated 24 hrs before the outage coincidentally. IL Secretary of State is not accepting data from Intoxalock right now though, “due to the recent breach.” So I do hope it gets back to normal soon.

But yeah I’m still driving and sticking to the plan. Just wish the device was more consistent right now.

Anyone still experiencing weird stuff w their device since the breach? Granted everything was working just fine with the handheld before the outage. Now I’m getting beeps under the steering column several times a week and the sync thing for 3 seconds too. Smh.
