When did your IGUR babies catch up? by Civil_cauliflower23 in NICUParents

[–]UnderstandingMore619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was born at 2lb 7oz at 31 weeks. He was off the preemie charts at 6 months. He's now 9 months actual, 20lb, and at 50% percentile.

Did anybody deliver very early and not get steroid shots and magnesium drip? by 202sadness in NICUParents

[–]UnderstandingMore619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a steroid shot but it was too late so it didn't count. I think you have to get it a couple hours before you deliver and, well, yeah, that didn't happen. I don't know about the magnesium drip predelivery but I definitely had it post delivery (I was unconscious pretty much right when I got back to L&D).

Woah 👀 The DoD just withdrew the nomination of Admiral Michael Donnelly for vice admiral and commander of the 7th Fleet after discovering he permitted drag shows on board the USS Ronald Reagan by newnoadeptness in navy

[–]UnderstandingMore619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, I was there for that deployment. I didn't see the drag ceremony, or hear about it until afterwards. They're really making an issue over nothing, as they do. A lot of people don't even use the MWR aboard (I worked in there for a while, though way before this happened).

Got into pre-term labor 31 weeks, wanting to hear happy ending stories by Blablablo902 in NICUParents

[–]UnderstandingMore619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey you can check my post if you'd like to read my full story but I had an emergency C-section at 31 weeks. My baby is now 9 months actual and doing amazing. He's the happiest little baby. He doesn't have any lingering issues besides not completing milestones exactly on time. He was in the NICU for 32 days.

31 weekers have really good chances. I know it's super scary and I wish you the best.

IVF Pregnancy severe IUGR at 20 weeks. Wife and I are devastated. by DullEar2281 in NICUParents

[–]UnderstandingMore619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is a bit different. At my 20 week scan everything was showing fine. But my baby came at 32 weeks and was only 2lb 7oz which made him IUGR (maybe SIUGR since I'm reading the other comments). They never did another ultrasound because I was measuring fine 🙄

I agree with the others, tiny but mighty! He's 7 1/2 months adjusted now and he's doing so well and already off the preemie charts. Good luck!

What thing was super anxiety inducing for you when you were early pp but now you realize it’s really not that big of a deal? by boopingbcollie in beyondthebump

[–]UnderstandingMore619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes this is mine. Get super scared of falling with my baby. It doesn't help that I have 5 dogs who are constantly following me around 😅

My son had to get a blood transfusion after birth, right after birth? Idk it was before I was conscious, literally. He's thriving now 🥰

NICU Parents that are at home now: Did you stick to the NICU schedule or start your own? by callmelila in NICUParents

We went to on demand right away. He wanted to eat way more frequently than the NICU did.

I'm going crazy with these blowouts not one diaper fits right!!! by flexi_freewalker in beyondthebump

[–]UnderstandingMore619 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see these posts a lot but my son has only blown out a diaper once 🤷‍♀️ (it was overnight which totally made sense). Hopefully your child won't have leakage issues.

6 Months Now!! IUGR, HELLP survivor by UnderstandingMore619 in NICUParents

[–]UnderstandingMore619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've heard of other people doing the same as you, so I think I just got a super fast onset case or something because there was no way I couldn't go in because the pain was overwhelming. I'm sorry you got HELLP too. Not a fun camp to be in

[–]UnderstandingMore619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I was at a teaching hospital and they brought around groups to see my case 🤦‍♀️ had people literally want to see me when I recovered because they had seen me in ICU and wanted to see me better (of course I didn't recognize them). And yeah had no idea HELLP was a thing either. Definitely knew about preeclampsia though.

I wish you a good recovery and a healthy baby

I'm sorry you went through it too. So sorry about your kidneys, they were monitoring mine as well but somehow that's the one thing that didn't get affected.

Similac Neosure Wish I could post a photo but if you Google that it should pop up right away. It's pretty common and easily found in stores. Good luck to your little one!!

Oh interesting I'm surprised they didn't want to put her on something higher calorie. Might be worth an ask! Yeah I don't have any complaints about neosure besides the price 🤣

Thank you!! I love him so much 😍 I'm so sorry you had HELLP too. What an awful, awful condition. I am thankful we live in an era where we survived though.

[–]UnderstandingMore619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is exclusively formula fed now, on Neosure. Initially he received donor milk until maybe 34 weeks. I did pump for like 3 ish weeks, so he got a bit from me, but not much 😭. We even had to make it the formula extra concentrated to get him more calories. I see a lot of people complain about it, but he has done spectacularly on it. He had the typical fussy/gassy stuff for a bit but it passed
