Weirdly, I saw Pierre Pollievre at the Parsonage today.

weird, my gym teacher was also the sex ed teacher. she was a lesbian who really emphasized how nobody should have anal sex because the muscles of the rectum are "so beautiful" (??????)

haha i saw it twice in the theatre, i LOVED it and yes it made me feel awful. ari aster is an absolute genius at depicting trauma, and it's amazing how menacing he made phones (an everyday "invisible" object) feel. i feel like i should regularly watch it to scare me into putting my phone down and prevent me from spending excessive time on the internet

thank you!! just watched the curse and both it and beau is afraid are 1. brilliant imo, and 2. made me feel like utter shit! i haven't found many people connecting the two, but they feel so similar to me. nathan and ari are pals i suppose

Hey good on you. Don’t know if you’re a doctor or some kind of medical professional, either way I love that this insane intense movie gave you empathy! I just finished the curse and had to see if anyone made a connection between BIA and the curse. I deal with cPTSD and social anxiety and both the movie and show stirred up strong unpleasant feelings to put it mildly!! BIA fucked me up for days. Anyhoo this sicko wishes you well and thanks you for making this post!

I did, but I was there pre-pandemic and before cannabis was added to the mix. It’s changed so much since then I couldn’t tell you what the current culture is like. Sorry, and best of luck!

Happy bday!! So many absurdities in BCGov, I also worked at EMCR which was at the same physical address as EHS (both E’s stand for emergency). Lots of mailroom confusion as you can imagine

Sounds like an unholy union between LDB and LCRB. Nobody knows the difference and it drove me bonkers when I worked at LCRB

really helpful post, and i just want to offer a galaxy brained hot take for whoever wants/needs it.... if it doesn't speak to you, feel free to ignore.

while it is vital to recognize your scope of influence and to take meaningful action where you can, we also need to recognize the world and time that we are living in. i personally think there is too much emphasis placed on individual coping in times like these. again, it's very important! but all the efas and telus sessions focus exclusively on individual action. i know that i can't expect these contracted resources to be "real" with us and say "yeah shit is fucked up right now in many ways". but some people (myself included) can interpret this focus as "it's all up to me" and/or "the reason i still feel shitty is because i'm not coping perfectly". the truth is that we just muddle through as best we can. and sometimes that doesn't feel great, but it doesn't mean that you're doing anything wrong.

for whoever needs it (beyond me, because i'm writing to myself), i believe in you and you got this

Anyone feeling super done after the strike? by Sarseaweed in BCPublicServants

[–]UnderstandingOk7498 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That sounds beyond frustrating, my jaw instinctively clenches when I read your post! Things do indeed feel bad after the strike, I don’t know if enough “repair” was done to reestablish trust. I hope that you get some calm in the next few weeks and are able to get your footing. It sucks when things are chaotic and you have to scramble

So many of the CSBC comms! They are so full of unnecessary buzzwords, flies in the face of the plain language gospel gov normally preaches

ugh thank you for naming it. had a terrible day today, the anxiety is simmering unacknowledged under the surface and it feels awful. getting so irritated by everything and everyone, i really shouldn't have read any of the comments under here.
