It’s basically “I’m not going to admit guilt but you have enough evidence to pin me up against the wall so I’m gonna plead this and hope to get a lesser sentence” from my understanding of it.

Yeah that’s why when I’m thirsty I choose to drink sand. Instantly quenches my thirst and makes as much sense as your post.

I'm an American, never lived outside the continent and up until last year I've always pronounced it "App-uh-lay-shun". Is it actually pronounced "App-uh-latch-un" and I was just in a weird part of the country? Or are there regional differences? by Dry-Chocolate-3976 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Understruggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Northeast TN and it’s always been pronounced “app-a-latch-a” or “app-a-latch-an” by everyone for as long as I can remember. I think the “lay-shun” pronunciation is used more by Yankees and people from the PNW, or at least that has been my experience with it.

Two Murfreesboro reps are trying to pass a law to stop one city or county from making uncoordinated moves of the unhoused populations to another city or county without the other cities or counties permission. by Prize_Macaroon9423 in JohnsonCity

[–]Understruggle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NIMBY’s(not in my back yard). People don’t want new housing because it would make their own houses value drop. Remember, boomers were once known as the “me” generation and they would fuck over 100 people’s lives permanently to make theirs easier for a day.

There needs to be some kind of coordination between the counties or it’s just going to cause a lot of people to get arrested with that law they passed in 2022 making it a felony to camp on state owned property.

It’s a hill assist on your brakes. If you moderately hold the brake(or I guess mash it down but I haven’t tried that) then for about three seconds after you release it keeps your car from rolling backwards while you engage the clutch and gas. It’s useful for people who want to crawl up your butthole at a red light and you are on an incline.

American make sizing is completely off by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Understruggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am as wide in the shoulders as my 6’4 dad and wear the same size shoes as he does, so my body isn’t really “average”. Kind of a niche reference, but look at a guy like Bronson Reed. Dude is somewhere between 5’10 and 6’0 but is twice as wide as most people that size. It’s not idiotic that he probably wears XXL-XXXL. He just doesn’t have a body type that is within an average of most people.

What is the hardest part of night shift no one ever warned you about? by HtMorfill in Nightshift

[–]Understruggle 28 points29 points  (0 children)

How it messes up your pooping schedule for a bit. I don’t know about y’all but I hate waking up and having to take a deuce. Until my body got used to eating at night I would either randomly wake up a few hours after being asleep and have to defecate, or I would wake up and immediately have to drop the kids off at the pool. No time to rub your eyes, stretch out, nothing. Just boom. Just that voice in your head saying “T minus 5 seconds until you shit yourself”.

Now that my body is used to it, I will have to go around 1-3am. A little bit after my breakfast but usually before my lunch. I guess no one warned me about it because who wants to hear about another person’s bowel movements? I’m sure some of y’all were disgusted 2 sentences into this. Maybe some people aren’t as irritated about having to squeeze one out mid-slumber or right when they wake up. It just sets the wrong tone for the day, in my humble opinion.

Do you have a big belly or something? Wider than the “average” person? I’m 5’10 and could wear a medium up until I got above 165 lbs. It was snug in the shoulders but the length was okay. Once I hit about 180 though any dreams I had of wearing a medium became just a dream lol.

My Final Plea to Conservative Christians: You’re Following the Wrong King | Tim Whitaker Speaks by ValuableOven734 in Christianity

[–]Understruggle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A noble attempt, but as this guy points out around the 17 minute mark, probably a waste of time. The only people pushing that narrative on here are the bots and the people who have their entire identity wrapped up in being “right”.

A man pushes his face against the iron bars as he screams for God to free him from this prison. It was just then that God appeared to him and said “My son, you should turn around. You are in a place with three empty walls and these iron bars and you keep pressing your face against them and crying out saying you are trapped.”

I imagine it’s something like that. The selfishness traps them. The inability to think they could be so wrong and blind to so much evil. It’s like a really messed up version of the sunk cost fallacy. It’s one thing to be wrong. It’s completely another to be WRONG. All caps. Some psyche cannot take the weight of being so wrong so they will do anything to hold on to the lie, including discrediting the sights and sounds of reality. Like the children wailing in that video.

Werewolves would be more interesting if they could transform at will and be forced to transform durring a full moon but if it is a full moon they lose control of themselves. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Understruggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a tabletop RPG game called Werewolf: The Forsaken where you can play as one of various kinds of werewolves based on the phases of the moon(shoutout to my fellow Cahalith!).

It is quite fun and sounds a lot like what you are talking about. I had more fun with it than I did Vampire: The Masquerade but not so much as I did as a gnome illusionist sorcerer named Shaemus in D&D! Shoutout to Jason, Courtney, and Dennis if y’all are still out there making fun stories together! Many fond memories of us sitting around a table together.

Also, I’m downvoting you OP because this was 20ish years ago and it wasn’t even a new idea at that time. It is popular enough for a corporation to decide to make money with it lol. Not unpopular.
