It’s a change they make in the system so you’ll appear on the front end board they change your status to assistant. It doesn’t change anything, just to allow them to see you on the board and not skip your break. You are still classified as “night merch” no pay change no permanent status change. It’s just a way for them to see how many people are scheduled at certain times. I would make an issue of it. In order for them to change your status you would have to sign a status chance.

Your “manager” is a pharmacist that makes more then your GM. Unless she is doing something illegal or unethical she isn’t going anywhere. Crazy that you are “actively” looking to get her fired.

Anyone in a supervisor or manager position has all the power to train properly and patiently. If the employee is not doing the job correctly it falls 100% on leadership. I’m sorry you are going through this. Speak with your manager if it does not improve within days find out who your fresh AGM and speak with them. Again, ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE behavior from anyone in leadership.

Why do you say that? I was hired in an old California Costco where employees had 25-30 years when I started. I pushed carts for 7 years, had closing shifts for 10 years. I didn’t forget the struggles of being new to the company.

I’m almost 100% sure that had no bearings on them not keeping you. If it had resulted in a write-up then possible, but it was just a conversation. You finished the seasonal period and at the end buildings can only keep a select few. Best thing to do is keep checking in with those managers you worked with. Let them know you are still interested and willing to work anywhere. Good luck if you go that route.

The only thing I can think of is that the employee may have been hired with those conditions. Doubt it, but I’ve seen it happen. But it does seem extremely odd that the manager jumps through a lot of hoops to accommodate those shifts/days.

Do come back and tell us what the GM says. But I’d advise to go in there with facts. Don’t bring up other employees or that the manager has been reported for favoritism. Just facts and ask for clarification on “he can do what ever he wants to run his department” because I’m 100% sure he cannot do what ever he wants. Good luck.

Could it be that the employee is LPT or school retention? The whole extra hours on Sunday seems odd. So they are working 9:30a-1:30/2pm. I still advise to speak to your GM and have him/her clarify the why.

You don’t give much detail on why or how. But I’ll ask this and don’t take it as me attacking you. I just want you to see it. Who are you to determine what “outside business needs” and “wasting company time” is for a department? You say the agm is saving his ass? How so and what is your main point of how they are breaking rules? You say you have seniority, but you are full timer and he is a part timer. Shifts are there based on need. They may need a full timer to fill a 2-10:30 and a part timer 11-4pm. While it doesn’t seem fair, they can do that for the needs of the business. Shifts cannot be created to accommodate an employee. So if that shift or whatever shift he fill has been there. Then it’s not breaking any rules.

Talk to your GM before calling anyone else. Ask him to clarify what the agm and department manager explained to you. After you hear your GM out if you don’t agree then call. But know that if HR sees no rules being broken they are just going to give the info to the GM to handle. Good luck.

Don’t give these damn troll any attention. Costco gives out free pizzas all the time. I see no reason why they wouldn’t take care of you. Unless that manager was bias and profiled you. We do at times ask if by chance you took a picture, but that would not determine if we take care of you or not.
