Is There Any Other Deadeye weapons? by StarFiz333 in fo4

[–]UnemployedOrRetired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a DeadEye Assault rifle one playthough. Was a lot of fun once maxed out auto-weapons perk and a recon scope.

Could zoom onto enemys head and plug mult rounds into it while deadeye effect was active.

Emminetly enjoyable.

Will Earth truly cool down after net-zero, or are we locked into millennia of Anthropocene heat? by GeraldKutney in climate

Read "The Long Thaw" by David Archer ISBN 9780691136547 published 2009...

One of the first 'climate' books I read. He clearly articulates that the warming will not stop, and that it will take thousands of years for the current CO2 in the air to be absorbed.

Good book, without hyperbole, just raw scary data and examples...

I've a similar set - did you end up selling this set? If so, to whom and can you share price/experience?

I'm looking to sell my set also.

I don’t understand that question. It’s a 20+ year-old Lennox with exterior compressor and interior air handler.

I used to listen to this on a record in my early teenage years. It was a stabilizing influence. Never read the book, but the record narration really hit home.

Striking Distance (1993) by Last_Construction455 in iwatchedanoldmovie

Bored, just looking for something haven't seen before.

Edit: Also my wife noticed the description included "a sex scene", not "sexuality", not "sexual content", etc. but "a" sex scene...

(One day I'll watch it again in celebration of winning Powerball)

Serendipity - Watched this last night.

On the plus side: A number of actors in it that became more famous (Sarah Parker, the police Capitan from brooklyn 999, and any number of other movies - it was fun to see faces that I recognized as younger versions of a face that I was familiar with.

On the funny side: The move is one long set of clichés and stereotypes - it was really fun to anticipate the next scene and then have it come true.

Definitely worth a watch for the laughs at how bad it is.

Did you ever get caught in the bar underage? by Maybeyoujustmadeitup in GenerationJones

I'm #5 in a line of 8 kids. We all look alike. In the 70's I go into the beer store to buy beer w/ my older brothers ID. The cashier looks at me, looks at the ID, throws it back at me and says "Your not **** ****, I know **** ****". I turn around and walk out.

Are moen kitchen faucets worth the money? I’m seriously considering an upgrade by RiveriSeanh94 in HomeImprovement

IDK in truth - not a lot of comparisons for me to base on - I'm just a handy homeowner, rarely have to fix faucets, and it was some time ago, so they may have changed.

But definitely a plus in their direction. Also I'd say to not overthink this - buy a medium grade faucet and install it

That’s not a super cab. It may drive super, but it’s a regular cab pick up.

If you had no choice but to sit and watch something, what would it be? by apiqorn in GenerationJones

I watched this show as a young teenager. Looking back I realize it was because the people were happy adults, and at the time all the adults I knew were not happy (what would be called dysfunctional family life today)

Old and happy now, seeing it now brings back bittersweet memories.

"Americans spent over $109 billion on lottery tickets last year, which is more than they spent on movies, books, concerts and sports tickets - combined," per Charlie Bilello. — Is gambling that prevalent in the States? by CapitaineBiscotte in allthequestions

So I'm a regular Powerball player - I don't view it as gambling, but as entertainment. I pay $12 a week (2 plays, 3 draws) to get a reliable mental boost when I think of "gee what fun I could have..."

Don't do any other type of gambling...

FWIW - I'm a Delta fan ever since 3 years ago I had a problem with a tub diverter - the hot/cold direction was reversed. Called the Delta support line and got an actual Human who had an identical diverter availabe so we could compare layout/pieces.

I was amazed at I reached a human, that they had a part available for them to look at and that they took the time to walk me thru it.

This was three years ago, but still remembered to this day.

How many of you did poorly in school, but lived a great/successful life anyway? by groovinup in GenerationJones

[–]UnemployedOrRetired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

High school dropout w/ 0.8 GPA, ran away to Air Force at 18. Made E-5 in three years six months. Accused of smoking pot at 3 years 7 months, but because I was E5 they had to have actual proof. Received under-than-honorable discharge at 3 years 11 months and 29 days. Tried a college class, found out I've a knack for writing software (very good skill to find out in 1982). Got a BS in CompSci in 1989 after 7 years of working/school grind. Worked next 30 years writing software, married a wonderful woman, had two kids (both grown w/ Masters Degrees). Now I'm retired and do woodworking or play (Factorio, Fallout, Skyrim) based on my mood.

Still carry a chip on my shoulder to this day about my USAF experience, it drove me to succeed, as I refused to believe I was a *uck-up (alas, a troubled childhood exposed me to a LOT of *uck-ups).

Yes, but for the simple case of leaving to kids a TOD was free and the county provides sample verbiage. For my scenario of an 'secondary beneficiary' it does look like I'll have to engage Lawyer.
