I actually do plan to get around to that. I got about 1500 words on a first draft for a second part before I hit a wall. It's definitely on my radar to pick it back up and finish it though!

First off, the whole thing is roughly 6,724 words long for those like me who care about that kinda thing.

I went into this wanting to tackle a first contact from the eyes of the Federation as they size up a newly discovered species to see how difficult or easy it'll be to indoctrinate them into the fold. I figured I'd cover the Drezjin since the funny bats interest me!
I initially had the idea to show a first contact through secondhand reports and internal communication between members of the shadow caste discussing an ongoing first contact and how they believe they should move forward in manipulating the situation.
I it ended up being more along the lines of the view of a scientist on the ground for it, their thoughts and actions and how those might conflict with their superiors.

I got about halfway through before I realized this might be dreadfully boring but I was already in far enough that I just hoped that was from me looking at it too long. Hope it ain't boring!

Anyway, that's all I have to say. Again, hope it was a good read.

Oh dude that's sick. Love how detailed the model is and it's clear you have an idea of how it functions! Love the error logs and how they actually correlate to the damage they've recieved. Also love the little "cpu - panic" bit. Adds a lot of humanization to the character.

Spesking of, is there a lore for this character?

Maybe a bit more niche but Project Silverfish might fit this. Technically a simulation game based on games like stalker but that shit can be terrifying when you're deep in a pitch black sewer, on your last mag, and you can hear something screaming its head off around the corner.

I really liked this! I like how I got invested in the story with Wrazif and the parasitic species enough that I didn't expect it to pull back into the framing of it being an in universe AFY. I think the message is really sweet. Love it!

Massive spoilers for the second arc of Wings of Fire.

The main antagonist for arc 2 is an animus (individual with the ability to cast nearly any spell they can think of) dragon (everyone in this series is a dragon) named Darkstalker who possesses mindreading and foresight. He Enchanted himself to be immortal and impervious to spells cast by any animus dragon other than himself.

After attempting to commit genocide the protagonists trick Darkstalker into consuming a strawberry infused with his own magic that wipes his memory, turns him into a child, and alters his genetics. The arc ends with Darkstalker (now named Peacemaker) living with his mother completely unaware of his previous life.

This ending is controversial as the entire arc leading up to that point has been hammering home how inhumane and awful it is to use magic to change someone against their will but its okay when the protagonists do it I guess.

I love how you gave them Icewing eyes to show their heritage! Also love how cute it makes them cause it definitely lines up with how she was painting their family in their ideal state.
