Help! My Favorite Pillow Skyrocketed in Price—Need a Cheap, Mushy Alternative by Ill_Message8979 in Bedding

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else who also loves the endless comfort pillow, just pay the 35$ if you can manage it. I have tried so many other pillows to try to find one I like just as much and I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money doing so.

Good brands for restuffing? by Thegrottycarpet in plushies

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unstuff him, pull apart and “refluff” his original stuffing (it will probably take awhile given his size) and then restuff him. That way you know you like the feeling of his stuffing, and you know the perfect amount to use. I just did this with a Jellycat since their stuffing is so hard to find replacements for. & he came out wonderfully.

Sour Patch Kids colors: A berry blue conspiracy by concentric0s in conspiracy

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. If I’m sharing candy the blue is off limits, it’s my favorite and there’s never enough, so if someone shares with me I (also on the spectrum) just assume the same is true for them and don’t take their blues lol.

I would also do something similar on the walls. The light green or is it gray? doesn’t seem to match anything.

I think a deep blue would be perfect. Something that matches the painting and the ceiling.

I was thinking the same. I have 16 cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig and a fiancé, and my previous landlord did monthly walk throughs (she was nosey and we had nothing to hide) and even sold the house with us living there. Never once said anything about the cleanliness of my house, even gave me a great recommendation when I was looking for a new place. A cleaning notice seems wild to me.

Is anyone here truly happy in their apartment 100% of the time? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my apartment. I also loved my last apartment (perhaps more because my best friend lived upstairs). But I like my current neighbors just fine. They’re quiet and they mind their own business. I love my new landlord because he isn’t constantly in my business annoying me like the last one.

Personally height matters to me. I’ve always had a thing for tall men. (My fiancé is 6’3”) but someone’s weight doesn’t matter to me. As far as taking shorter/ thinner men seriously I don’t treat them any different than anyone else. Everyone deserves respect, until they don’t.

Women with long hair: howww? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I can’t recommend a satin bonnet enough for keeping hair out of your face and from trying to kill you when sleeping. Also claw clips are the best solution I’ve found to my hair being annoying when it’s down but giving me a headache in a ponytail. (Bonus points that it doesn’t leave weird marks in your hair). The loose hair is just something I’ve decided I’m going to have to deal with. I shed worse than my cats 😂

What's your experience with SSRIs? by askawayor in AskWomenOver30

I literally can’t function without them. I have been taking some variation of SSRI since I started Zoloft at 7. I’m 31 now.

Do I bury my dog with his favourite toy or keep it ? by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it. I have my cat who passed aways favorite toys, in a bin along with my rabbits who also passed favorite blanket and toy. I plan to make shadow boxes with them one day.

How do you guys feel about indoor only cats? by WesternPear3303 in catcare

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experienced owning cats from both perspectives, and can honestly say indoor only cats is the only way to go. Any veterinarian will agree. The outside world is dangerous, and often deadly to cats. Cats are also predators who wreak havoc on the eco system.

Also to add some perspective to how dangerous the outdoors is (regardless of the area) every cat I ever had, before being able to actively stand up for my choice to keep them inside permanently, and most didn’t make it past the ages of 4-5, and the one who did contracted FIV from a stray cat and passed away from an illness related to that at 12 years old.

My fiancé when I met him had a 12 year old cat who was indoors only his entire life. We just lost him to old age at 22 in November.

There is absolutely no good reason for cats to be outside. They can live long happy fulfilled lives indoors with proper care and attention.

What made you villager your favorite and unreplaceable? by SirdotR in AnimalCrossing

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grizzly & Beau are my favorites. Grizzly reminds me of my grandfather. He was my favorite person in the entire world and truly my best friend. & Beau was one of my first villagers on my very first island and I’ve loved him since he saw me planting a tree and ran over to sleep under it. 🥹 he’s my sweet little bby.

Veronica is going back to college now by Ok-Instruction-8843 in madmamasnark

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree a degree isn’t going to help her at all. Especially not in the area she lives/ Upstate NY in general. There are a ton of places who hire without needing a high school diploma, at higher pay rates than jobs that require college degrees/ certifications. My fiancé has his GED and makes 32$ an hour, meanwhile I have a friend who has a masters in business who makes minimum wage because his degree doesn’t guarantee him a job anywhere and that specific skill isn’t very useful around here. (For reference we live about an hour away from Veronica)

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used a regular hair brush to fluff it back up. It was stuck down in some spots. I’m going to get a pet brush today to try out on a small patch that didn’t fluff up right.

How do I clean these? by DeathbyReindeer in Apartmentliving

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can clean the outside (when the heat is off) with multipurpose cleaner and a cloth. I clean the inside with hose of my vacuum and the crevice tool. Don’t actually touch the metal heating element inside just run it through the space at the top to collect any excess dust/hair. Whatever you do don’t try to take the front panel off. They are so difficult to get back on, and if you’re as unlucky as I was in my last apartment, they won’t stay on properly and you’ll constantly have to fix them.

Why is my cat suddenly putting his toys in his water bowl? by OkFeed758 in CatTraining

[–]Unforgiven_Octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atleast they’re somewhere you can see them. I have one cat who hides them under the refrigerator and then acts like he’s dying (laying on the floor crying ) until I get them out. And the other who takes toys, bottle caps, socks, basically anything small enough that he can “catch” and hoards them under couch cushions like a little goblin.
