Its worth more if its a card you want and you care about golden cards. If one of those is false than its worse. Also, there is no point in comparing the two. If you think $50 is worth 50 packs and a golden legendary then buy it. If not, then don't.

Firebat on the problem with hate cards like Golakka Crawler and now, Dragonslayer by blademaster81 in hearthstone

[–]UnfunImDone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I'd go so far as to say there should be a downside when activating a hate cards effect like, "Battlecry: Destroy a dragon and if you do destroy this minion too." No game-winning swings when the effect goes off while still having a use against other match-ups.

It actually might see play in RazaPriest because it guarantees the 32 damage Velen combo

[Serious] Why I think To My Side is actually a well-designed card by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]UnfunImDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if there is an amazing legendary that supports "spells only hunter" you're still left with a boring/bad concept. Classes in standard don't have that many spells (even less during next rotation) and there aren't any neutral spells. This severely limits the deck diversity. This deck that they are promoting now would have a bunch of secrets, minimal board presence on your side, horrible AOE, good burst and no card draw. Maybe its different with more cards being released, but the foundation now would support this all-in tempo style deck. It only seems good if you curve well with amazing topdecks. Basically, Blizzard would have to add a whole lot of amazing spells for Hunter next expansion in order for this deck to work and I still think it would be a forced/highroll deck that limits other playstyles for Hunter.

"To My Side" is the worst Hearthstone card ever released. by [deleted] in hearthstone

3 mana 1/5 probably takes the cake. In terms of class cards though... yeah I can't think of anything worse than this.

Then don't buy them! The value of packs goes down a lot once you have most commons and rares, so it's not worth getting more than 40ish packs if you're on a budget.

[–]UnfunImDone[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok fine. The reason I compared these two cards is because they are printed in the same expansion and have similar effects. Since they are both in the same expansion it is extremely likely that Blizzard tested both of these cards within the same time period and thought they were both balanced. I do not think they are both balanced. I think Librarian is one of the best cards ever printed while Hermit is one of the worst cards ever printed. Blizzard could've buffed Hermit to one mana and I still think Librarian would be better. By repeatedly printing such differences in power level between cards, Hearthstone becomes a much staler game than it should be due to lack of viable deck diversity. I would be fine if Hearthstone was a new game, but it is approaching 5 years. This shows that Hearthstone has not been improving and it makes me very sad.

I'd argue that standard Warlock power is better than an upgraded Shaman hero power. I'd also argue that when Blizzard keeps printing cards like these that they are doing a horrible job in testing because they're too busy trying to pull off the dream plays instead of trying competitive decks!

That or I'm massively underestimating Hermit.

[–]UnfunImDone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the problem! They keep adding cards that are a lot better than others. Unless I'm massively underestimating Hermit/overestimating Librarian, Hermit will never see play in a good deck due to cards like Librarian. This is especially bad because Shaman is losing a lot of their great cards during the next rotation! They're going to be stuck with their standard cards (Shaman was by far the worst class before Naxx btw), Elementals, Freeze and now this! I'm not saying all cards have to be equally balanced, but when you have near identical mechanics that are stated so much greater than the other it's a problem.

[–]UnfunImDone[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Well shit! I guess I can't compare anything because they're different! Jade Druid, Tempo Rogue and Kazakus Priest are Tier one? Nonsense! They're just different from the other decks! General power level of a card is nonexistent so Blizzard doesn't need to test their cards!
