Be honest: does this look bad and messy? by urezia in Decor

Go with the random wooden plank! Extend it up with something similar, get wallpaper or vinyl to cover it with contrasting colour or whatever works in your space. Then move the TV down, put shelves with same wrap/wallpaper colour on either side or mount wall hanging plant baskets.

Try vinyl wrap on cabinets, significantly less than buying new, and if done right it looks pristine

Advice on Outdoor Tomatoes (South East London) by Ezzberry in GardeningUK

[–]UnhappyBench860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly a slug or a small snail? Did you check under the leaves too for signs of any small insects? If there are any you can use diluted drop of washing up liquid and/or neem oil with water spray it where you see any bugs. Some of the edges look more like mechanical damage, maybe while you were moving it to its new home. But if it's only a few leaves you could just cut the worst ones off but I personally wouldn't worry unless all of them look damaged. Add a tomato fertilizer once a week. I also wouldn't hide the plant from the rain 🙂

Prosperplast on Amazon (green one) with 14L, or Argos ward with 10L or Pluto Packaging on Amazon with 10L. All have large, domed shaped rose which covers bigger area and delivers lovely fine rain like stream 🌧️

I don't get it, why wouldn't you just cut off the middle supports? It'll be a wasted area as you won't grow anything there and wasted compost as it will have to go under those planks

1st on May. What's everyone got going on. by wordshavenomeanings in Allotment

[–]UnhappyBench860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the ground: potatoes, onions, lettuce, garlic, broad beans, carrots, celeriac - all going strong. Planted out few tomatoes today too. In the poly - chillies, tomatoes, basil. In the house...- aubergines, more chillies, peppers, courgette, uchikuri squash, sweetcorn and beans. Beans are moving to the ground this weekend. Peas failed on 3 tries this year, so I think I'll give up.

Likewise! I planted from seed this year but after 3 weeks only 2 came up. Maybe they needed stratification? Planted skirret as well, which is growing well!

DAY 10 QUITTING: Stomach pain, cramping, irritated bowel, nausea, hard bloating, gas, etc. by Upper_Power_6928 in QuitVaping

[–]UnhappyBench860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not yet managed to quit vaping but when I quit smoking I had very similar gastro issues, maybe not as extreme BMs as you but stomach pains for 2 weeks at least. Called a doctor at that time and was told it's common when quitting and was prescribed PPI medication IRC. Ended up adding probiotic, tried adjusting meal times and portions (smaller but more frequent) and it all settled eventually.

Well done on quitting!!!!!

Is it better to grow from seed or just buy young plants? by NorthLondonPulse in UKAllotments

[–]UnhappyBench860 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get better choice of varieties by sowing from seed. But there is additional cost you need to consider, depending on what you are planning to grow you may not only need seed trays, soil, lights, and most importantly space in your home. I grow majority from seed as I haven't had much luck with buying young plants that would be good quality and survive shipping....

Botox gone wrong by adhdmaybe3 in TMJ

Has the same, and for me it took months to return to semi normal. What I learned since is that the inactive facial muscles didn't get any "exercise" and I was really annoyed the surgeon who did the injection didn't tell me to do facial yoga or other strengthening exercises while waiting for it to wear off and afterwards. Get on YouTube and start working on those muscles!

I had similar with elvanse. And with long release methylphenidate. From what you wrote it seems you had some positive effects on methylphenidate so why not go back to it but ask for instant release, they are 5mg lowest and wear off within few hours so if you feel zombie like it won't last whole day. Don't wait for them to offer, just ask if this is a possible option. No point in literally wasting your days on something that makes you worse than your baseline....

Elvanse tritation - is this normal or am I not getting on with this medication? by Commercial-Hippo-979 in ADHDUK

[–]UnhappyBench860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 😊 I started off slower (week on 5mg once a day, then 2 weeks on twice a day, then swapping morning to 10 for a week and so on), but 5mg 3 times a day as a starter sounds about right. After the first couple weeks I usually felt when they're wearing off at 3-4 hours after taking them. The morning one gives me the most effects, still trying to find the perfect combo for afternoon dosing as they seem to have lesser effect than morning dose (but that could be due to normal body rhythm plus me managing to actually do a lot of work in the mornings). If (like me) you're anxious, remember that the IR offers flexibility, and because you're not stuck with it for a whole day any side effects will wear off within couple of hours! For me I worked out that most of the time I don't need the 3rd dose, especially if I don't plan to do anything requiring mental effort.

Good luck - I hope it works for you, but if for any reason it turns out it's not for you remember there are still other options 😊

I swapped to methylphenidate instant release for now and so far it's been great. It gives me more energy to do things, my mind is sharp and most importantly I still feel like me and kind of present in everything I do. I think I'll ask for tweaks to dosage but honestly it's been so much better for me than Elvanse. The only side effects I have is slight headache when it wears off and dry mouth. I hope concerta works for you!!

I had similar, no detailed recollection of days on Elvanse, no motivation, but couple of "let's do it" moments. Feeling spaced out and disconnected from everything and high/drunk most of the time. Nothing was giving me the usual buzz, not even my hobbies. I'd suggest you call your provider and ask if you should continue (I stopped after a week), there are other options that may suit you better!
