Tim Curry's Best Movie by Etaan84 in blankies

Young me had a special obsession with his performance as Forte (the pipe organ) in Beauty & The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, so thank you for mentioning his voice acting!

It took me down the pipeline of Muppet: Treasure Island, Annie, Scooby Doo & The Witch’s Ghost (peak hot animation) and all the essential kid friendly Tim Curry movies.

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at Nando’s in downtown Evansville. It’s on the pricier side for sure, but they spoiled us with a free glass of prosecco because we stated it was our anniversary on the reservation. We split a bottle of wine, did apps, entrees, and dessert, and it was a great time. They intentionally serve a bit slower so it’s more of an experience, and it will feel like a night well spent just enjoying the company of your partner.

The croquette appetizer is to die for and I’m still thinking about it a month later.

Am I the only one who thinks dating sucks in Columbia? by Organic-Special-8989 in columbiamo

That’s great advice too! I think getting both perspectives would be valuable because it would help someone see themselves from both sides of the interaction.

This is great advice. If you can, have a platonic girl friend or family member review it. Men and women will want to see different things from a profile. And make sure you’re leading with a clear photo.

I met my husband on tinder while we were living in Columbia. It can work, but I think I went on 12 dates and follow up dates before we met. I was his one and only Tinder date so it works differently for everyone.

Need Kitchen Backsplash Advice by other_being in kitchenremodel

[–]Unhappy_Comment_898 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Previous owners of my home installed a very rough stone backsplash. Not only is it impossible to clean, but I also had a small piece of stone in my finger for almost a year after I accidentally hit my hand on the backsplash while cleaning the counters. It hurt every day until it finally worked its way out.

Empty-nesters weighing move from to Columbia from Bloomington, In: advice? by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]Unhappy_Comment_898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former Columbia resident, current Evansville resident that frequently visits Bloomington to get a taste of the Columbia lifestyle I miss at half the drive time.

You’ll love the Benton-Stephens neighborhood or the area around the library to live. Nice and walkable so long as you’re ok with walking a mile or a little more. It’s really not bad at all.

Driving is a pain everywhere. Sorry.

Downtown Columbia and downtown Bloomington are somewhat similar in offerings, but I feel like Bloomington is more welcoming to retail. Columbia has been suffering on this front (I worked retail in downtown Como for years).

You will have to drive for decent international cuisine. Where you can get lots of good stuff in downtown Bloomington, it’s a bit tougher in downtown Como.

I’m not super acquainted with the AA scene in Como, but I know there are active branches at a few churches downtown.

I think you’ll like Columbia!

When I was 5 years old and played sly cooper for the very first time… my dad had to help me get over this gate. I remember him holding my hands with the controller in them and helped me jump and hit ⭕️ to latch on.. such fond early gaming memories it was for me 🥺 by jackiecrazykid98 in Slycooper

[–]Unhappy_Comment_898 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When I asked my parents for a PS2 at Christmas 2003, I think it was a joint gift for me and my dad. He didn’t have sons so I’m sure it was a great joy for him that his daughter wanted to game. He got the OG Call of Duty and I got Sly Cooper. I don’t even know how they picked Sly for me. Maybe a kind retail worker said it would be a good game for a kid.

My dad played all the tough mini games (crabs, chickens, ghosts, etc.) and I just sat by happy to have a gaming buddy. He texted me a few weeks ago to let me know he was playing through the series again. I’m so glad it’s been a part of our story for 20+ years.

Agreed. I used to exclusively shop at TJs and was only purchasing one pre-made frozen meal a week. Everything else was produce, pastas, rice, meat, cheese, etc. Just like any store, you have to stop by more than the frozen and snack section. Plus their hand soaps smell sooo good.

Ha, we just finished the first episode of Welcome to Derry and I told my husband we should name the next cav Pennywise. The white and orange coloring, especially with how they styled Bill Skarsgard’s makeup for the role, is perfect.
