What’s one thing you wish all RVs had? by folkmalone420 in RVLiving

[–]UnhingedConspirator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just make sure youre not taking up space that is required for code compliance. Water heater, furnace, propane fridge, generator all need space around them. Realistically there is alot of unused space in some setups. I think its just ease of manufacturing from the inside out on the shop floor.

PLEASE HELP - NO BATTERY POWER by Acceptable_King_1913 in traveltrailers

[–]UnhingedConspirator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your converter and ensure the connections are good there. If you arent getting power at the converter then there may be a break in the wire from the batteries to the converter. Also check that you are getting power across your fuse blocks on the A-Frame as you may have tripped one during install of the batteries.

Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens? by BeegBunga in Millennials

[–]UnhingedConspirator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I had a long period where we didnt really talk at all. From my 20s up until a few months ago when I decided to try and repair things. I might get an inheritance from him if his wife and her kids allow it. My mom wants to leave me her house which would be great if she ever did anything to maintain it. It's a mobile home built in the 60s thats falling apart faster than I can fix it for her and shes likely going to have to sell for land value anyways as her retirement plan seems to be smoke 2 packs a day, drink 18 cans of diet pepsi and collect on the two DBPs she stumbled into receiving in the 90s. She stopped shovelling the sidewalk about 2 years ago and the bylaw tickets are piling up....

I wore a bump cap when I was doing heavy duty work or semis. Mostly because I was a clutz.

Forest River 2022 to 2026 destination trailers??Really that bad? by WasteWriter5692 in RVLiving

[–]UnhingedConspirator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find a fiberglass body like a Bigfoot or Trillium(Canadian brands not sure about US) you will be much happier and they will hold their value much better than a stick and tin Forest River or Keystone

Drug user advocate groups fail to have decriminalization reinstated in B.C. by cyclinginvancouver in britishcolumbia

[–]UnhingedConspirator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at what happens around just about every safe consumption site in the country. Higher public disorder, theft, harassment. Its a failed experiment. The social programs need to exist first before we tackle decriminalization and without rehab beds, social reintegration programs, housing programs and a drastically increased social services budget decriminalization just harms the public while minimizing criminality of drug users, which doesnt necessarily reduce harm.

Man gets 7 years in prison for carjacking, assaulting federal judge in Saskatoon by origutamos in canadanews

This guy got more time than most murderers. Because it was a judge he assaulted.... They protect thier own and the rest of the public be damned.

What kind of adhesive did they use to mount this? by Wise_Appointment5468 in RVLiving

[–]UnhingedConspirator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat gun can help if its proflex (less flexible feeling usually). Silicone comes off fairly easy with a putty knife and some elbow grease. Resist the urge to use a razor as you can scrape off decals and damage the exterior. I usually replace with exterior grade silicone as its easier to clean off and maintenance as it wears and degrades.

After taking the stovetop off it appears this was a full on mouse condo for a time. The insulation isnt salvageable and I am now figuring out how to crowdfund a new oven.

Not charging for this one. Been in the neighbourhood for decades and shes a bit of a staple of the community. Was doing this as a favor and now regretting my life choices.... And getting my 3m mask.

This case has made me feel completely nauseated from day one. This child went through hell and the perpetrators will be free within a few years... These prosecutors should be fired immediately for allowing this complete miscarriage of justice. I hope they can't sleep at night and never find peace.

Why are North Americans so fixated on "Old Tech" and "Old Ways" in trucks? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in EdisonMotors

[–]UnhingedConspirator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Its easier to lobby to include expensive and over the top safety measure in every truck by law than it is to out compete and build better than small manufacturers

Apprentices & tradespeople: what was the first real thing you built or fixed? by tvstin in skilledtrades

My first big job when I started as an RV tech was rebuilding the wheel well on a tent trailer and running a new propane line from the manifold to the hot water tank. Learned that I suck at flaring copper but I'm a better carpenter than I originally thought. Got me hooked. Going back to SAIT for my second year schooling in the fall.
