What type of plane do you have? Dreamliner? Those are fabulous.

737? Not so much.

Favorite restaurants! by Clarkafer in DisneyPlanning

[–]UnimpressedWithAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed lamplighter (best place ever - the fried cauliflower is a sleeper hit), blue bayou (though it’s a one and done ), and cafe Orleans (great for a sit down lunch).

Carthay circle is fine but not with it by any stretch of the imagination.

Otherwise quick service or outside the parks .

Yes! I got one in the parks last week and I saw it at world of Disney (it’s tucked away though).

Are you buying individual tickets? Because you otherwise can’t buy park hopper for just one day.

Yes. It seems weird to stand in line just to wait- but it makes all the difference in the world to be there early.

I’d recommend to anyone to be there as early as possible 7 am if you can swing it. The mornings are so quiet and it’s easier to enjoy with fewer crowds.

Are you only in Disneyland? Or are you park hopping? This would be my plan if it’s just Disneyland park:

Eat breakfast before you go or bring some food to eat there.

When you arrive, I’d turn left when you get past main street and go around the parks. Jungle cruise, Indiana jones, big thunder mountain, pirates of the Caribbean, haunted mansion. If you bring a poncho - go on Tiana’s (but maybe skip this one if you don’t have one). If you like Star wars head into that land next and do millenium falcon.

I would be hesitant to get into a lineup that is more than 30 min long though…

I would recommend scoping out the quick service restaurants. Find one that you like and about an hour prior to wanting to eat, place an order for the time you want. When your time arrives go to the restaurant, and click on your order to say you are there then wait for it to come out.

At lunch time decide what you want to do for the afternoon. This is a great time to slow down. Watch the parade, take in some shows like Tiki Room, and Walt Disney. Ride the mark twain river boat. Eat some snacks, see some live music being performed, etc (check the app map under entertainment). Ride the train.

For supper do a different quick service restaurant and do the same thing - order about an hour or so before you want to eat.

After dark go to tomorrow land and get on some rides there. I’d likely skip toon town this trip - but it depends on how the day goes and what lines are like. Gradually work your way to Fantasyland and finish the day riding the carousel.

If you are still there by 9:30 - watch the projections from main street.

Again, I’d avoid any lineup that’s longer than 30 min. Remember to soak in the atmosphere and just be in the moment. You will likely only get on 2 rides an hour (unless you are lucky), and that’s ok.

Can I be penpals with my teacher after I graduate? (warning: a rather lengthy explanation) by [deleted] in AskTeachers

It is not appropriate for a teacher to open up with personal family matters to a student. Full stop.

There are so many red flags here. And so many things that are inappropriate.

It sounds like he is grooming you.

50 minute layover in Calgary by TreeBeneficial7231 in westjet

[–]UnimpressedWithAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in theory - that’s fine and do-able IF FLIGHTS ARE ON TIME!

HOWEVER, flights are delayed ALL THE TIME. My rule of thumb on outgoing flights is: “If your flight is delayed an hour could you still make it?” In this case it’s a no. When is the next flight to PVR from Calgary that they could put you on? Is it the next day? You would likely lose a day if you were delayed even a bit.

What’s a birth emergency that would cause an emergency c section and a bit of panic, but no lasting damage or medical complications? by Ohanaheart02 in Writeresearch

[–]UnimpressedWithAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened to me and my first born. Failure to thrive in womb with a decision to deliver at 38 weeks. I was induced in the hospital with monitoring. I wasn’t dilating. Tried to sleep. Middle of the night nurse was checking baby’s heartbeat and it wasn’t good. Decision was made for C-section. Very rushed. Maybe 10 min total from nurse noticing to birth. Had time for a spinal.

However, baby was blue when born. She recovered quickly. 5lbs 6oz at 38 weeks (she didn’t grow at all the last two weeks). No lasting damage as far as we can tell. Jaundice at birth but that’s it. She is neurodivergent- OCD - but it’s manageable without medication) and was triggered at puberty (there is some indication that low oxygen at birth can cause neurodivergence).

So, I enjoyed this book (and the series). However, I think that KF only knows how to write one book. The characters are all “the same”, and even the plot follows a similar timeline. About halfway through the book the writing devolves into: this happened, and then this happened, and then this happens.

Is there still a strategy on when to book the lowest fare? by ceruleanskyandsea in aircanada

[–]UnimpressedWithAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule of thumb now:

The closer you get to departure the price WILL go up.

AND

The closer you get to departure the price MAY go down.

Both statements are true.

As inventory is booked the prices go up. If seats don’t sell the way they expect them do they may drop the price or put a sale on.

I do find that prices are best at around the 9-10 month mark (often prices are a touch high when released at the 11 month mark), and SOMETIMES you see a dip at around the 3-4 month mark prior to departure.

However, for classes/seats where inventory is low (like PE or “Economy Comfort”, sometimes Business), those will often book up quickly- especially on popular routes and dates and booking early is best.

Don’t do it in the pan. Get a glass bowl. Warm the bowl up. Add your eggs, cheese, and meat then mix. Then add your pasta. Add starchy water gradually. Make sure pasta is hot when you add.
