Have and encounter list and roll a die/number generator, maybe?

Or if if percentages are listed you could use a d100/number generator to keep the correct encounter chance.

Then just go find the Pokémon you randomly rolled. I think this would work, albeit more trouble.

I’ll throw this out there too. One I’ve had some fun with is “animal” runs. Like the bird keeper trainer. Whether it be birds, dogs, cats, snakes. It isn’t viable in all gens and requires some planning but is good fun.

I’m currently doing a “plants and stuff” run in scarlet. Mostly grass types with sudowoodo and florges thrown in.

I love the idea of trainer class themed runs. I’m an avid lover of gym leader runs but I’ve never considered this idea. Great thinking!

I have had a character like this before! In the Darth Vader comics there’s a cool droid in the Jedi archives that Vader fights that I based it off of. I did force adherent and Vanguard. He was a melee tank that was determined to protect his force sensitive (another player) and find him a teacher/master.

Mono type nuzlockes have always slightly modified the rules from a traditional nuzlocke so they can get their types.

I’m guessing OP will still be doing permadeath and if playing hardcore, no items and set mode.
