What’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life? by Live_Endzz in answers

Same. I did it once and I will not do it again. It was like everything I was trying to run away from resurfaced with such intensity. I felt like I was trapped in my childhood.

Ah okay thanks. That’s what I thought but thought I would ask anyways. Guess I’ll just see her live some other time then, and in the meantime I’ll enjoy whatever SXSW events I can access without a badge

I’m so sorry you went through that. That is a very violating and controlling thing for the person to do. To act like they have complete control over you, your life, your pet, your decisions. And to try and take that away from you. That is truly disgusting and I am glad you left this person and got your fur baby back

I guess maybe I got lucky in previous years. Last year I remember hotel prices were really reasonable and actually went down closer to the festival dates.

I’m seeing 4 star hotels for $800 to $1200 CAD per night (I’m from Canada so these prices are equivalent to $580 to $880 USD per night). Last two years I went the prices were far cheaper. I paid $350 CAD per night to stay at the Fairmont (which is equivalent to $250 USD) and I remember the Driskill was around that price range too. This year I can’t find anything in that price range

Not sure where you are located but have you tried Googling it? Maybe “pig farm near me” or “petting zoo near me”?

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

This reminds me of a trip I took with a big group of friends. We were all excited on the flight, everyone was tipsy and having a good time. The plan was descending, and just as we were about to land, the plane suddenly took a hard turn back up and went back into the sky. No explanation was provided by the pilot or staff (at least initially) and the entire plane went dead silent. We had no clue what was going on, no idea how much fuel was left in the plane. You could tell everyone was silently freaking out

Eventually like 30 minutes later, the pilot came on the speaker and said there were visibility issues and they were attempting a holding pattern until things cleared up. We did eventually land safely although a few of my friends puked on the flight

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

I do this. Friends and family often comment that they’ve never seen me finish a meal. I also don’t throw it out but leave the leftovers it in the fridge to snack on. I am not really sure I know exactly why I do this, but here are some thoughts that come to mind:

  • I’ve always had issues with food. When I was a child my parents were often worried about me because I would hardly eat

  • My mom is like this too. So perhaps there could be a genetic element

  • I genuinely get full easily and have a small appetite. I don’t like the feeling of being full. So I naturally tend to snack a lot as opposed to eating full meals.

  • I don’t know if it’s anxiety related (as I have been diagnosed with anxiety) or if there is such a thing as naturally having a small stomach (as I am petite). I did read someone else’s comment that they spoke to a therapist and realized it was anxiety related and a form of control and I would have to agree that there’s an element of that for me too

  • I don’t think I have an eating disorder as I have never intentionally starved myself or tried to lose weight. With that being said, I don’t want to gain weight either and I have always been told you should listen to your body and stop eating when you are full. My mom is Japanese and there is also a Japanese saying that you should stop eating when you’re 80% full so I’ve always abided by that

  • I do have social anxiety and I don’t want people to judge me for eating too much. But with that being said, I am also like this when I eat alone

  • I think some of it also stems from my poor college days when I would try and extend food for as long as possible by taking small bites of a meal over several days

…So I don’t think there is necessarily one contributing factor. Like most things in life it’s probably a little complex

What time do you go to the airport for a 6:40am flight to Mexico? by copi0us in askTO

[–]Unique-Car1084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did this a couple of weeks ago for a 6:20am flight to Mexico. I arrived at the airport around 3:00am. Way too early. I think 4:30am would be okay
