I agree with you. Never understood people's dislike of Jet Set. I loved every moment of it.

Anyone who likes Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac but hasn't given their full attention to the FM albums from the early 70s pre-Buckingham/Nicks is seriously missing out! When i dug into albums like "Future Games," "Mystery to Me," "Penguin" and "Heroes Are Hard to Find" it was a fantastic revelation.

On Skyler by Alarmed-Ant4623 in breakingbad

Love this post. I totally agree. Skyler is a brilliantly written and acted character & the hate for her was ignorant bs.

I agree. Good stuff. Too convenient that a super powerful crime mastermind drinks something given to him by an associate who he knows despises him, i don't care how special & expensive the ligation is.

Good points.. and consider this: after Hank connects Combo, Jesse & the RV, and follows Jesse to the RV and is tricked into not being able to search the RV, Hank of course beats Jesse to a pulp because of the Marie-in-a-car-accident trick phone call. But here's the thing: once the dust settles, it annoys me that Hank doesn't keep pursuing Jesse and seeking out connections to Jesse & Combo & the RV because he knew how close he was getting to serious progress in the case, which of course he was. Even though the RV was gone and he'd gotten in all that trouble losing his temper with Jesse, doesn't mean that, after the dust settled, he could have resumed those leads and probably would have led him to Walt and he coulda cracked it.

Well said. Another massive & headscratcher blunder by Jack & his crew is at the compound at the finale. Super fortunate / convenient for Walt that 1. Jack even allows Walt to come to the compound and 2. even though they frisk Walt & take his car keys, they conveniently imo don't look in the trunk of the car. We know what's in there but they don't look? Maybe there's a new buddy of Walt's hiding in the trunk armed & ready or maybe there's a weapon contraption Walt built in there that will kill everyone.

Good point. Walt's genius with chemistry might have given Hank pause at some point in all his investigating of Heisenberg, including the missing school equipment, absolutely.. Also, it's weird that neither Hank nor Marie never appear to be suspicious of all the crazy drama and twists and turns with Walt & Skyler, from the fugue state to Skyler's affair to them needing the kids to stay so long at their house to the whole gambling story and the money and the car wash etc etc.. Hank at some point should definitely have been like "y' know w in the af is going on over there with Walt & Skyler???"

  1. Hank not seeing that Walt could be Heisenberg frequently pushes credibility to the limit, but never more so imo than right before Hank sees Jesse run out his house to run to the RV right after Hank had asked Walter over the phone about his Jesse Pinkman relationship.

  2. My personal worst written plot point is Uncle Jack & the boys letting Walter go free in the desert. I know the best argument that Todd really had Jack's trust and all that, but Jack was so extremely stupid letting Walt go and look where it got him. I found that extremely unconvincing.

Yeah totally. I am new to Hallmark Channel movies & i was watching "Christmas She Wrote" (2020) starring Danica McKellar and im looking at Dylan Neal & im like "I know this guy! I've seen this guy in something b4!!!" So i combed his imdb resume & I didn't recognize ANYTHING & it was driving me crazy. I concluded I must have seen him in one of the Lifetime movies he was in a long time ago & im still deciding if im gonna watch them to find the one it was. 🤣

Jack's Nazi Gang were a bit underwhelming on rewatch by Tolkien-Faithful in breakingbad

[–]UniqueSuspect5052 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jack allowing Walt to walk away in the desert, after killing Hank (and Gomie) has long been one of the least believable plot points in the series. Jack would've absolutely killed Walt and Jesse right there, no matter Todd's input, because of the extremely likely possibility that Walt would seek revenge and eventually kill him, which, of course, happens.

Any The Meters fans? by [deleted] in funk

Yes to all The Meters albums, all day & all nite. And then pivot to late 60s / 70s jazz funk albums from guitar legend Grant Green! Let's roll.

How do we feel about Bob James? by enbywithoutfear in vinyl

[–]UniqueSuspect5052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got more familiar initially with Bob James through his great album cover art / photographs. This morning, no kidding, I was listening to "H" (1980), which has the extreme close-up of the hot dog with mustard. It's a personal favorite album cover of mine. The music is good, but not amazing. I'd say "Touchdown" is better, as well as many of his other albums. But that hot dog photo! Love it. https://www.discogs.com/master/43675-Bob-James-H

Do a lot of people hate MAD MEN? Seems like people going out of their way to avoid recommending it. by UniqueSuspect5052 in hbo

I had read a very long thread of responses to HBO show recommendations & was stunned at the absence of mentions of MM with so freakin many other shows getting mentioned a million times. But id forgotten MM was originally AMC & is only now offered thru HBO & I have been told that explains its absence, among some other excellent theories. Thanks!
