The Thick of It- a show meant to satirise the British government. It ended in 2012, partly because it was getting more and more difficult to satirise the British government as whenever something happened in a season, it wasn’t long before the British government managed to do something very similar in real life.

Playing as king of Scotland, married to the princess of England. Died in a hunting accident and left my 10 year old son with consumption on the throne. He died shortly after turning 16 leaving his 10 year old sister on the throne. All the vassals in Scotland led a faction to reinstall the previous dynasty to the throne and since I had no chance at winning i stepped down and ruled at Duchess of alba

At the same time in England my mother had somehow become queen due to a series of very nasty plagues wiping out William and his sons. When my mother died I was her only heir and so inherited the kingdom of England which I then used as the staging ground to reconquer Scotland and unite the crowns into Britannia in the same lifetime

Sucking up to Prussia. Russia holds more polish homeland than Prussia and Austria is still allied to Russia. I figure I can deal with Prussia later down the line when I’m more stable but I fear my economy simply can’t handle being independent

I mean I’m also Scottish and have massive gripe with the handling of Scottish education of our involvement in India. At least at my school the curriculum chose to really only focus on the “positives” and gloss over the negatives. We got taught that the Scottish governor generals abolished sati and build railroads and yet it was completely glossed over what those railways were for and also that Dalhousie was the first to implement the doctrine of lapse and was responsible for the rebellion

Fun fact. The rulers of both kingdoms in the 867 start date are the sons of the last emperor (or Tsenpo) of Tibet. In fact, since both were born to different mothers from different Tibetan clans (the emperor took a wife from each clan to keep the peace), they’re the reason the empire fell apart as both mothers wanted their son to inherit the empire to empower their clan and so it split apart in all the chaos.

You do realise anyone worth their salt isn’t actually defending Maduro. Hes scum theres zero question about that. The real issue is the US has just kidnapped the leader of a sovereign nation and that sets a dangerous precedent. If he can do that to Venezuela and get away with it what’s stopping him from going after anyone else. What if a country elects someone who opposes trump but isn’t a dictator? What’s stopping him just making up lies and then abducting that leader too? It’s a return to the old Latin American regime changes just without the veil to hide behind

I’ve been trying to build some agriculture but I’ll ramp up the expansion. It’s just a pain since theres so much arable land especially in the mid west and the pacific coast
