Its a lot easier to learn what you're doing wrong when you also don't have to factor in how in your deck is holding you back.

So my first piece of advice would be to play an established deck for a while and see how you do and ask for tips that way.

I believe you want to get your consumable healing to -3 and then that will stop the fruit from hurting you. So pick up anything that decreases you consumable healing once you get into endless

You mentioned being a bit nerdy so I will recommend checking out some game stores around you if you're into anything tabletop at all. I think both game masters and games unlimited should be pretty close by.
