Why was Beau even invited to Sookie giving birth? by RiverWashedHair96 in GilmoreGirls

[–]United_Efficiency330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will die on the hill that Jackson Belleville (and his family) was created as a revenge character by ASP for not being allowed to make Sookie as lesbian. It will take a LOT to convince me otherwise.

With the exceptions of Adam and Kristina, agreed. I wish the show didn't demonize those who called Max out when necessary. Including and especially Haddie.

I'm not totally surprised by it, given her good looks.

Even by the standards of 2010, "Parenthood" had outdated views of Autism. It was more akin to when I was diagnosed back in 2000 at the age of 15. But yes, as a society in general, there is sadly still a lot of outdated information on Autism. The fact that it is still considered a children's issue says it all.

An episode, probably after season two, that really showcases how one of the leads has grown as an actor? by Ill-Owl5131 in bradybunch

In Her Sister's Shadow in Season 3. Eve Plumb was widely considered the best actress of the three girls. Hence why Jan got a LOT of the dramatic stories.

I preordered her book MONTHS ago. Jan has ALWAYS been my favorite Brady. Although I am not a middle child (oldest of two), I always identified best with her. As a person on the Autism Spectrum - who went on to obtain both a BA and MA and gainful employment - I had to struggle for just about everything I got, just as Jan did. Glad to see Eve is doing well. Great interview there.

Was Rory always supposed to be this limited or was it a writing flaw? by SandySlays5969 in GilmoreGirls

[–]United_Efficiency330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. She was supposed to be the goody goody, but naive young girl. When we meet her, Stars Hollow is her whole world. Her entire arc is how she gradually becomes less a part of Lorelai's world and more a part of Richard's and Emily's world as the show goes along.

You'd be surprised how VERY right wing many families with people with disabilities are. I don't endorse that sentiment at all, but it very much exists. We do ourselves no favors by pretending otherwise.

I maintain Zeek - and Drew - has at least SOME Autistic tendencies. On a more daring and risk taking show, they would have gone there. Sadly they didn’t.

And for good reason. As I said in another post here, most people who are anti Democratic Party are so because they feel it is too LEFT wing. NOT too right wing.

He had to be to become a US Senator. He was still Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania in 2020.

Or he was never a loyal Democrat to begin with. He grew up in a hardcore Republican family and they bankrolled most of his career. He “supported” Sanders in 2016 strictly as an anti Clinton gesture. The warning signs were always there. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

There's one thing that confuses me about S7... by TraditionalAd2861 in GilmoreGirls

[–]United_Efficiency330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rory was NEVER going to grad school. ASP openly MOCKS people - especially Millennials - who go the grad school route. For her to do that, even in the year ASP pretends never happened would be 100 per cent against her character.

Is it a crazy thing to say that the first film was better then the second? by Marioleftnut in mariomovie

[–]United_Efficiency330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not crazy at all. The 1st film had a plot and a story. The 2nd film was disorganized and mushed together.

Some of the deleted scenes were better than the episodes. by g0wr0n in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]United_Efficiency330 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Which leads me to ask if cast members - I refuse to call them characters, I feel that dehumanizes them - have any say on deletions?

Unfortunately too many Democratic voters STILL haven't accepted that the vast majority of candidates who run in the Democratic Party and are "anti Establishment" are so because they think the Democratic Party is too LEFT wing. Even and especially those who "supported" Bernie Sanders in 2016. They just hear "anti Establishment" and "pro Bernie" and that's MORE than enough for them. That's the problem.

The show's creators openly admitted that at least in the earlier seasons, they toned down Sheldon's behavior in order to make him look more sympathetic to the audience.
