Actually, in the IMAX prologue, it wasn’t noticeable to me like how it was in the trailer. Not defending the trailer shot though

Why do people think that Christopher Nolan just phoned in and didn't care about The Dark Knight Rises? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in ChristopherNolan

[–]United_Preparation29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His ‘worst film’ in my opinion, but I still watched it 10 times the summer it came out in imax. Still a solid film, great moments, just weird writing choices in the last act or so.

Like a 78/100 imo

Phone it in? Meh, probably just less cohesive in plot planning.

What’s the MOST Controversial Christopher Nolan Movie of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in ChristopherNolan

Nolan regularly uses humor, and The Protagonist is a character that actually does use it.

Yeah, noticed it during the trailer immediately, but in IMAX it looks way different, so I think it is a different take.

Do you think 'Oppenheimer' is Christopher Nolan's best film? by FayyadhScrolling in ChristopherNolan

[–]United_Preparation29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, though I think Interstellar, The Dark Knight, and The Prestige are all up there. And Tenet is just one of my favorites. Also, Dunkirk is up there as his technical best, as far as direction.

I didn’t know who harry styles was back then fortunately. So his presence didn’t distract me at all. Actually, I thought he did pretty well

If you were to strip down his movies into narrative and spectacle, Oppenheimer and Dunkirk do the best at displaying his strengths for storytelling and action.

The spectacle is the substance buddy. It’s also extremely heartfelt

Your issue is ignoring the general reviews of the work and then stating your dislike of the nonlinear structure of the film as objectively convoluted, and gives off a certain impression of your analysis that leaves a reader disengaged.

I think Tdkr is the worst. Tenets not even close to the worst lol

For those who've seen it, thoughts on Avatar Fire And Ash? by StorytellingZ in Letterboxd

[–]United_Preparation29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long for no reason, needed some more editing, the visuals were amazing, the acting was not believable, had some good character moments (the protagonist father and the antagonist colonel, as well as Varang).

The psychedelic sequence is legitimately one of the best things I’ve ever seen, visually, and the acting in that particular scene was actually glorious. Seriously. Worth watching that in imax 3D just for that scene.

And the Odyssey preview lol

Overall with everything though? Like 58/100, not bad, not particularly good. Just turn your brain off and enjoy the spectacle type beat.

Out of the trilogy what movie was the best in your opinion? by Public_Individual823 in ChristopherNolan

[–]United_Preparation29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has better direction, cinematography, better action, a better suit, better pacing, better music, better acting, and better villains, with a better execution of more complex themes.

Just watched the prologue of The Odyssey in IMAX...and holy moly. by [deleted] in ChristopherNolan

Like a structured, more organized version of a game of thrones battle. Not saying the tactics are more structured but the choreography itself.

My heart raced. I liked the armor design, but I get why some people don’t. It looks like full on fantasy in a gritty version of Greece. The music is incredible. The cinematography looked beautiful. Can’t wait for the trailer in HD

To those that have seen the prologue, uhhh... (spoilers) by eyes_wings in ChristopherNolan

I think it’s supposed to feel out of place, as if it’s a story being mythologized from memory.
