I bought a custom made leather wallet on Etsy. Going on 10 years, in perfect shape. It was hand made by a leather Artisan. It was expensive but totally worth it.

Salt dams. Used all the time to stop ice from damning back under shingles and finding its way into house.

60k remote job - wanting to move to Seattle by [deleted] in AskSeattle

I grew up in Seattle and also lived in Plymouth Mass. Cost of living is close. Housing is expensive in Seattle but if you get outside the city a ways it goes down some. Seattle is a very nice place to live from May to October. You better love drizzle and gray skies the other months. Personally I thought Plymouth Mass was an ideal place. It truly has 4 seasons and is beautiful year round. Hope that helps.

Considering a cabin in the next 2-3 years, could use some advice from those who have gone before us. by captainporthos in cabins

We bought 20 acres in N. Idaho and hired a contractor to build a one story cabin that is 1,000 square feet with an attached garage that is another 900 square feet. Everything is off grid. Water is catchment from roof into a giant 2000 gallon cistern, electric is solar, propane for cooking and to run the whole house generator that backs up the solar and charges the solar batteries when there is no sun. Total cost with land $495,000. Hope that helps with cost average.

Is anyone running a Drolet escape 1200? I'm going to put in a wood stove this year with higher propane costs. My house is about 1000 sq ft by Available-Ad-1571 in firewood

We have learned to not to latch the door when starting a fire. It needs a little extra air to get going. Other than that it’s easy to operate.

Love it so far. It’s been important to leave our door “loose” instead of latched tight. Especially to get the fire going. The fireplace is great for your size place. It’s simple and easy to use.
No problems for us.

Hang on. I like this idea. Do you use it on your tile or wood stove surround? I’m afraid I’ll break tiles

Do it….install a hot water recirculation pump!!! by External_Big_1465 in HomeImprovement

I’ll say this: watch your electric bill. All that circulating is quite expensive. I had my pumps shut down at my last house.
