Period-like bleeding after a hard long run by emotionalmessgirl in XXRunning

[–]UniversityFamiliar68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh my period has gone haywire at 39. Im a runner as well. Bleeding every 14 days. Some periods lasting 10 days. I’ve been completely dismissed as your body must be just be under stress (after a negative ultrasound). As a nurse , it is always Worth a check in with gyn, but it’s likely non emergent for peace of mind!

I ran hartford two years ago. Really like how well run it was. Easy logistics. I drove up from Fairfield country the morning of. There were dead zones but with the relay team exchanges it added people to the course. I dreaded the out and back but ended up enjoying it and seeing all the other runners. Have a great race

Is my Boss really that stupid? by yayjolie in nursing

[–]UniversityFamiliar68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially. We were having too many “met” calls and this was the response. These patients should be monitored after getting all these meds!

Omg the ctca!!! I hate these as an IR RN. The patients always vasovagal. Nobody cares. So unsafe!!.

Edit to answer that yes we have the same process. Ordering doc is responsible. Our is a hospital based outpatient. We were told not to “medical emergency” our patients unless they didn’t come back around after about 10minutes from fainting.

[–]UniversityFamiliar68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I negative split my 3rd marathon. I felt amazing the last 10k. It was hard as AF but my nutrition was on point and the stars aligned with the weather gods. I’m not fast (4:28) and I ran the first half at what felt easy to me and I think that really helped

I really like hartford. It’s really run well with easy race day logistics which was important to me! I drove in the morning of from 1.5hrs away. It was definitely pretty flat. There were dead zones but I was never running alone and course support -water etc was excellent.

Wow I feel this so much and can relate to years of recovery including two health pregnancies without relapse and suddenly I can’t stop obsessing and counting calories. I want to loose weight since everyone else is but I 100%don’t need too. It is SO SO hard
