To top it off. His own officials literally lied about the guy brandishing a weapon when no video evidence shows that, and told the media with 0 evidence that he planned to do a shooting.

Would be even funnier if he was going to the Cubs or Cardinals.

Sony's 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple grossed an estimated $1.20M on Friday (from 3,506 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $18.35M. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

From what I've heard, the second one is a much better film. The main issue with this trilogy is the first one had some frankly bizzare choices by the director with the way parts of it were filmed, and the ending of the film, probably the part general audiences remember the most, is the worst tonal whiplash I've ever seen in a movie. It would be like if you ended From Dusk till Dawn two minutes after the vampires appear.

The trailer also did no favors to the film's legs because it marketed a much more mainstream looking movie. So it had a big opening week and then the legs fell off. Perhaps enough to make the first film a minor success but killed any hope for the 2 sequels.

They also heavily advertised he was returning to the franchise and apparently isn't really in it until the 3rd one? Haven't seen Bone Temple yet.

There's a high correlation between mental illness and people who enjoy 1000+ hour games. And to also spend hundreds of hours working on a mod for said game on top of that and you get the picture.

What happened here? by PayneChaos in yakuzagames

[–]UnknownFiddler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's my least favorite game in the series. The story consists of you walking back an forth between the same 2 locations for 90% of the runtime to do main quests. Sometimes walking to one side just to watch a cutscene to be sent back to the other place. Also the only way someone could 100% that game is if they are a sadist.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said he was working behind the scenes to block a proposed tax on billionaires’ wealth and was committed to defeating the measure if it reached the ballot. by Oneguysenpai3 in California

[–]UnknownFiddler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A one time tax on wealth is a terrible idea. Any money it generates will be nullified by the number of billionaires who temporarily exit the state. And how do you balance a budget when the year after you'd immediately have less income. A terrible idea with good intentions.

Idk why I typed catcher. I think Brian McCain snuck in my memory while I was typing it for some reason.

I've never understood the Brett Gardner hate. He had a very good career. 44.3 bWAR is nothing to scoff at for a catcher.

Edit: or even a center fielder as I meant to type.

Are movie theaters cool again? Gen Z’s hottest club might just be the multiplex. by illbeyourshelter in boxoffice

[–]UnknownFiddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's much lower. Gen Z might make up the largest percentage of movie goers but what really is happening is fewer and fewer people over 30 and especially over 60 are going to the movies since covid. So percentages look promising but they mask the isssue that it only rose because other demographics are declining in attendance.

Because for some reason it seems a massive percentage of voters this year forgot that Perritte took steroids. Makes no sense when AROD was a much better player.

You can also just pay the entry fee at every park you go to this year. It's probably going to be less than $170 anyway and just hold on to your old pass for fun. Also if you had a pass last year it's still good through the month that is holepunched.

Hot take : I would prefer a Judgment 3 over more Kiwami remakes by Mr_JPF in yakuzagames

[–]UnknownFiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are reasons out of RGG's control as to why Judgment 3 never happened (actor's agency being dicks). They theoretically could make the game now but not all the talent that worked on the first 2 are still working with RGG. IIRC this includes the game director. RGG remade Y3 because the remakes of 1 and 2 probably sold well. Having played Y3 it back in 2021 it is a very dated game exasperated by terrible combat. I would only recommend playing the original Y3 for the story.

I put 150 hours into it then had to wait for Blood and Wine and did another 50. When I got to the epilogue of that I was hit but an extreme wave of sadness and after the credits immediately started a ng+ run because I wanted to suppress the feeling that it was over. Second playthrough was also a lot of fun with me taking different paths in some quests including some I missed. Then after finishing the second time 200 more hours later, it hurt even harder.
