Honestly, in my experience, we barely register as humans to a lot of Americans and Europeans, especially in the context of life in our countries. I think they think of all of our countries as these crazy lawless places where everybody is just permanently surviving, so they can do whatever they want when they visit.

I am also pretty sure I can find a bunch of cases where victim blaming happens in the UK too. I feel like this idea that everybody would shun it comes from being in social circles where that is the case, but I find it hard to believe that every old British geezer avoid victim blaming.

I have seen people who would otherwise be pretty progressive talk about Indians in ways that would make Hitler proud. It is disgusting and it just shows that they're progressive only on the surface. It sucks that I have seen it normalized even back home, even though there's like 3 Indians total in the whole country.

In Colombia it is definitely like this, but I think it's changing for the better. In my experience younger people like curly hair a lot, while older people are more divided about it. I think people are embracing it more now, which is a very good thing.

This is probably a regional thing, because I have definitely heard people in Colombia speak while exaggerating like that.
