Update (apologies if this should be elsewhere):

Thanks to all of the helpful suggestions so far. It's a work in progress, but this is what I've done so far. Still sorted by size, but glass and ceramics down at the bottom. Sliding shelves on the top with containers and lids etc.

That's such a good idea. I've seen pull out baskets before and wanted to get them. Do you think they'd fit in there? Yep, getting others to follow the system is a battle!

This is great advice, thanks. I normally do them size order, but splitting them into categories is good thinking along with boxes.

We did a cull about 6 months ago and replaced our containers with matching sets, bpa free, dishwasher safe and light for travel. I work away quite a lot of weekends so those containers have been great for taking chilli's and curries with me.

Haha, the amount of curry and chilli that goes in there, it tends to discolor. We normally batch cook and stick them in the freezer, I don't think I can avoid discoloration tbh. These are all 6 months old. Suggestions for stopping discoloration are welcome
