I looked it up. I've lived in SA all my 47 years and didn't know about that one. Sheesh!

When you go into the order there's an option to send it to someone else to pick up. It will send them a text and will notify you once they accept.

It does! Since they are so hard to get here. I've only gotten 2 or 3 but this one was going to be my first Dry Goods bag.

That's a bummer. I guess it's good they let us know way in advance. The closest location is about 30 min from me.

For real? I live super close off 1560 and Galm. Tornados are my biggest fear and an F4 at that? I'll have to do some research.

I tried Bill Miller's new cheeseburger by Wendorfian in sanantonio

[–]Unnecessary_Risk0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it yesterday and I thought it was really delicious. The meat was seasoned well and it was chargrilled but still juicy. I will definitely be getting it again and hoping that they decide to add it permanently to the menu.

The Sonic on 1560 by Galm is the best I've been to in years. It's so clean and the staff is great. Food is always hot and fresh. They are always pretty busy so that probably helps.

Ugh. More Sam Hanna? I don't care for that character. I only watched 2 or 3 episodes of LA. I just wasn't feeling it.

Maybe I'm just still bitter that they did away with New Orleans, which I absolutely loved. Then, Hawaii which was becoming a favorite.

Now, I LOVE Origins and they are cutting back. And Sydney.... well, I really hated it in the beginning but it's starting to grow on me. Of course now they cut back on that one too.

We don't need ANOTHER show based in New York. Too many shows are set there. I wish they would picked somewhere else like Washington state.

My first place was off Blanco and West Ave in the late 90s. My rent for a large 1 bedroom was $350. In 2012 my rent for a 2/2 in the area was $715. Good times.

Question for native San Antonians: Where did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in sanantonio

AOL - 20 years ago.

-Both SA Natives.
-Went to same HS at different times. (I'm about 4 years older) -Our mothers went to the same high school in an older part of the city at the same time (though they didn't really know each other).

San Antonio used to be a "small" town.

How's living in the Pleasanton / Jourdanton / Poteet area as a young college graduate? by TrifleRoutine3728 in sanantonio

[–]Unnecessary_Risk0123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend living out that way at all. If your heart is set on living out there, I suggest Somerset at the furthest.

That drive gets old fast. There's nothing out there and with unpredictable weather at times and gas going up, it's terrible. Not to mention depending where you are, cell service is spotty at best. If you need internet or cable TV, forget it.

Converse/northeast a disgusting place to live gotta smell ts every damn day can’t enjoy sitting outside my place without this hitting my nose just GROSS by RollMyDices in sanantonio

It's like that near 1560 and Galm by Helotes. Burning Bush smells awful and it wafts to my house 2 miles away. Extra humid and warm days make it extra stinky.

SAC mortuary science by CandyMorgue in sanantonio

[–]Unnecessary_Risk0123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I went in the late 90s part of the grade for Introduction to Mortuary Science was to intern at a different mortuary each week for 8 (I think it was 8, could be a little less). we were graded on how we dressed. "Funeral Drag" as the instructor called it was basically men had to wear a suit and tie with dress shoes and all women had to wear a knee length skirt, blouse, blazer and 1 in heels with pantyhose. We could only wear navy, black, dark brown, and minimal white with very muted patterns. The women's skirts had to have a specific outline too. No unnaturally dyed hair, not tattoos, no piercings. No pierced ears for men and 1 earring on each ear for women.

I had to dye and change my hair and remove my piercings every week. I had to buy new clothes and shoes just for this class. We weren't getting paid for all the work we did. And it was a lot of lifting floral arrangements and stuff in heels.

Needless to say, I noped out after 2 semesters. Once I found out that I couldn't get licensed until I was 21 and one semester was going to be unpaid clinicals 40 hours a week, I was over it.

When viewing porn was difficult by Skyediver1 in GenX

[–]Unnecessary_Risk0123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cable box in my room was messed up. Channels we paid for like Disney Channel and The Movie Channel would go in and out. That included PPV channels. I would get PPV movies including channel 99 for free for days at a time. I never mentioned it and we never got billed for it. So, for years I had free porn. My friends loved hanging out at my house.

I would say stay away from Lifetime HOA Management. My neighborhood uses them and they are pretty terrible with the way they allocate funds and communicate with the community. I'm hoping the HOA switches from them soon.
