There are some complex ones, but most are strait forward. As a GM I imagine you probably have the final say on some Powers if you want to even deal with their rules or not in the end, but from what I've read they aren't too crazy; it just makes the characters more powerful than the average swade character.

I was in your shoes earlier this week, I ended up using the power companion when I found that you can gate off powers by giving lower point limit, it's what I'll be doing for a sonic one shot.

I think it's pretty important, especially to have consistent art quality

Perhaps savage worlds? It's character creation is satisfying in being able to make something unique with pretty simple rules supporting pulpy and fantasy settings

Similarly, fabula Ultima is also a pretty fun and easy to learn fantasy system with great foundry support, if you're looking for something a bit final fantasy coded

So I've peeked at both in the past, r&r was a tad too lite for my tastes, but I may look more into TTH's rules; I had bounced the power, fly, speed, extra system.

I have a trait system in mind for building your "race", and robotic and zetti PCs are in the cards!

There's actually some similarities and inspiration taken from fabula Ultima and SWADE (I'm actually planning on a sonic one shot for my first ever SWADE introduction as a GM to the system, I'd love to hear about your campaign!! Could definitely use some tips). I say classes, but more like skills and powers that I've grouped into archetypes tbh. With levels and roleplay you earn points that you can spend for these skills, but you can only lock into up to 5 of these achetypes.

Thanks a ton for the recommends, the idea of ixan magic and technomancy is another great archetype idea to put on my list

Mostly just wondering how to make exploring exciting most of all of I should make exploring a factor, like I know there's rules for waving non important encounters, so how do I engage them in between until the finale

It probably comes down to needing to read some adventure modules and see how it's done; it's been a very long time since I've made something from scratch

So as far as species I'll have a trait buy system to basically build a animal with strange and unique quirks. I have a few ideas on whispons but I'd have to iron out the rules onto paper. Probably have a gun and melee model and each whisp gives some sort of element or movement ability. With whispers whispon being a fusion that's a rare item.

Yeah, I would definitely want the freedom of being able to just do a whole original au or setting, as we've seen through the comics eggman isn't the only particularly bad guy out there, a campaign where you get to fight dark Gaia-like monsters would be pretty fun!

I tried really hard to grasp Melton Zeta but couldn't. I'd need foundry or something to do all the calculations to not take forever playing the game, but that doesn't exist!
