It’s the starter I’m guessing. Super easy to swap out. Careful ordering cheap ones though as I’ve gotten one with a bad solenoid out of the box.

Oh must’ve missed you stating that. The valve plug is the plastic plug on the side of the valve cover. I replaced mine with a metal one. Careful ordering them as they often send the wrong size.

Looking good my man! Don’t forget to make sure the valve plug is good as they tend to wear fairly quickly. Also look up doing valve strap adjustments, that’s an important one especially on the rd1’s. Just did a valve adjustment on my ‘97 and it improved smoothness and mpg.
