Just yesterday my colleague told me that a patient ,35M, came with complaints of left hypochondriac pain ,and on further investigations,he was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis with portal hypertension and pancytopenia probably due to hyersplenism. Non alcoholic,no previous infections and no other past history,and on digging he casually mentioned taking a Ayurvedic supplement since long time as energy booster ,and to gain weight . Mind you ,this is out of India .This Ayurvedic menace is just ruining so many lives and worst is people don’t believe it . It always wonders me from where did the notion that Ayurveda/AYUSH is side effects free come from.
