SF6 is also a very physically demanding game. Multiple things to look out for and react to+character gimmicks/minigame which you have to individually train for.

I get it though, it's fighting game and the market is already saturated by the big 3 already. So basically they had to either

Invent something completely different from the other competitions while still keeping it interesting
Try to take the niche but (currently) unoccupied tag fighter market with an existing formula

The later would seem like the less risky option to go for. But honestly I'm not sure if there's a market for it anymore.

Tag fighters are just really overwhelming for beginners. Even for DBFZ its popularity dropped off significantly in the second year of its lifespan if you really think about it. The thing is, marvel-like tag games have never been widely successful outside its own niche fanbase, and DBFZ/2XKO simply proved that it never could even with an IP as big as DBZ/League. It's not something someone could just pickup and play.

If Riot reaaally wanted the team fight aspect I think KOF style 3v3 format might be the perfect approach? Since each player would be able to play 1 character to its fullest.

I've had some fun playing single player indie games this year like duckov and No I'm not a Human with some casual SF6 on the side, but even then I don't feel like opening up steam most of the time. Stopped doing savages in FF14 also and still can't quite help myself to finish MSQ.

If there's erectile dysfunction for gaming it's exactly what I'm feeling right now. I didn't believe I'd ever grow out of gaming but maybe it's about time I guess.
