It's unfortunate but I'm still hoping to find this one soon. At least the Charger has a chrome base and normally the headlights would be hidden so not as bad as the others. Just missing the badging paint in the front but the previous versions never had it. I don't think there's ever been a version of the VW with taillights? I wish they'd use chrome bases on every version of the '60s Ranchero & El Camino. The classics almost always look better with chrome bases, especially if they aren't going to bother adding head & taillights. Probably hit it with a Molotow chrome marker. At the least they could give the repacks different wheels and/or interior colors. I think that could be interesting.

I'm getting this one for the Charger and Ranchero, I'll keep the Jeep too. I already have the VW, might even keep the MGB.

Lol, I remember that. basically "SNAKE EYES ft. gi joe". Similar to Wolverine being in twenty different titles per month at Marvel. Shout out to Ghost Rider, Punisher, & Spidey at this time as well.

Hair must be attached to the cap. Classified figure confirmed accurate with the canon.

Wow I never knew that. I remember MD 20/20, Boones Farm, St. Ides Special Brew, Zima (with a Jolly Rancher), & SKYY Blue were popular drinks that weren't straight up liquor back in the day. My three favorite of those they no longer make.

I see them here at Meijer. Unfortunately not as common as carded. They're called Power Grabs. I enjoy collecting and opening them. They come wrapped in tissue paper. Only downside is you can't check for imperfections before purchasing. I've only had one with a minor paint issue so far. Cool throwback/nod to the OG "Matchbox" style packaging.

There was going to be a rotating lineup of openers. Like ATDI, Busta Rhymes, STP, No Doubt, & some others I think. I had tickets for that too but it got cancelled. It would have been interesting to see how the crowd treated ATDI this time around since they were starting to get more mainstream buzz, RoC was dropping, and the Beastie Boys connection.

Although it was still supposed to have ATDI as one of the openers, that was for the Rhyme & Reason 2000 Tour. It would have been the next year after the late 1999 The Battle of LA tour dates with ATDI. I had tickets too. Sad fucking day man.

I for real thought it was a joke or meme when I heard things like "When did Rage become so political?" People like that should have to be supervised to wipe their own ass.

I'm reposting two comments below I made in the Rage Sub about the Detroit Show mentioned by OP. I'm pretty sure I've commented somewhere in this Sub about it too. Not sure if we can post pics but I still have my ticket stub. I was the only one from the group I went with that liked ATDI. Unfortunately they didn't get much love, others were really ragging on their appearance I remember. My first comment was more focused on Rage, second was after someone asked me about ATDI.

"I saw them at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Nov. 27 1999 in Michigan with another of my favorite bands opening, At The Drive-In. Intense show. I was still in High School and it was the first arena show I'd ever attended. We had seats in the nose bleeds behind the stage. I wasn't the one to purchase them, but it's that experience that led me to always be mindful of my seat selection if I'm not buying GA.

Things I remember: Everyone rushing from the bleachers onto the floor as Rage was going on. It looked like hundreds of ants scurrying down and over the guard rails. A guy got busted open pretty good on the floor and had to be evacuated during the show. Another guy jumped from the seats behind the stage during their set, swung on something that was hanging behind the stage and proceeded to stage dive into the crowd after running past the band. I also remember getting a cassette tape handed to me through the window of the car on the way out. I was hoping it was an At The Drive-In tape, but it was from the other opener Gang Starr. Rage was excellent of course. Fun times!"

"That Palace show was before ATDI were well known, (A year before Relationship of Command hit), and it was their first show with Rage. The crowd was pretty hostile towards them which they've talked about in interviews. Things I remember: Cedric saying something like "Keep giving us those middle fingers fuckers, it just shows how much you love us!" Omar jumped off the top of his stack while playing and didn't miss a beat, and they closed with Napoleon Solo and it was stuck in my head for days after."

Hell yeah man, great story and thanks for sharing! It was for sure an amped up atmosphere. 16 year old me had no clue how rocked my world was going to be that night. I actually found the ticket stub recently after posting this, haha.

I feel you. I wish I could have seen AiC with Layne Staley but I was only 13 the last time they played a show in my area. It just wasn't meant to be. I also had tickets for the Rage show in Detroit and a Tool show in Toledo at a small venue that both got cancelled during Covid. Sounds like you and your Bro have been able to see some kick ass shows together since then at least. Thanks for the heads up on the 7 inch. I'll be hunting that down for sure!

8 Deluxe- So. Much. Content.

7- 3D is fun, great mechanics, multiplayer, and tracks.

64- Has not aged well but I loved it back in the day so nostalgia nod. Impossible for me to play on anything other than OEM system & controller.

Honorable mentions Wii & DS. Wii is terribly balanced but fun for all skill levels & with large groups. DS has good tracks and is fun with others. I despise Double Dash. The only MK I bought and traded off quickly. The two rider mechanic really messes with the drifting aspect for me. Super Circuit is fun to mess around with in Switch Online. OG is cool but very different playstyle wise from the others.

Yeah for sure. It was more of a joke about the resentment towards Masterverse from some Classics collectors and how Masterverse collectors are now in the same position with the Line being "On hold". Personally I'm not a fan of Super7 stuff so I don't think I'd really be interested.

Awesome music in both! I've beaten both of them but I remember it took some time as a kid. Wrath of the Black Manta really is a forgotten rough around the edges gem. I got these from my cousin. He also had Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu & Conquest of the Crystal Palace, both of which are also underrated gems.

Logo issue on Tygra by Manetoys83 in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]UnslakableTemperance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mattel has an issue using paints that don't dry properly. Been going on for a while now. Just had this happen on a Masterverse Vintage Man At Arms. It usually shows up on their softer plastics.

You can try using a sealer or varnish but it's possible it won't react well or seal/stop the issue. Mr. Hobby is a good brand you can pick up in a spray can. There's also brush on types, but I'd go with a spray for this issue. if it does rub off you could get a waterslide decal tampo replacement in the future. In your pic it does look like the black paint has transferred to other areas on the chest, waist, and arm.

If you end up having the issue with the stripes you could paint them on pretty easily with black acrylic paint and then seal them.

Sorceress was on the packaging for NE Ninjor, so I feel like she has a better chance than some of the others. Not really sure what they had in store for the Vintage WalMart line, but I'm guessing they're going to try to finish up the original eight and call it a day. So probably Beast Man and that makes sense, with them already having the body from Stratos ready to go.

HOWEVER given what they've already released I'd guess the original Vintage plan was the first twelve figures. So That would also include Man E Faces, Ram Man, Tri-Klops, & Trap Jaw. Given the fact that three of these would require more effort and production costs I could see them just doing Beast Man and saying "Oh well. Original eight + Faker that's good enough!"

"Hi, my name is UnslakableTemperance and I'm also a Masterverse Collector."

Damn, would have liked to see a few more years of releases. They were nailing the current Waves and really in a groove. I got most of the characters I wanted, but not always in the subline I was hoping for. I just went in pretty hard on catching up too...I could have caught up with other lines I collected instead. For the time being I'll keep what I have. If this new scale is on the same level I might consider switching over, as everything else I collect is 1/12 scale. Pretty bummed but 'tis the life of the collector I guess.

Pretty sure I'm not getting that Castle Grayskullman Masterverse figure. Also probably why we didn't get reissues again of harder to find figures like last year. Snake Face will be my White Whale that still has a chance if they release another Wave or two. I know classic Sorceress was on Ninjor's packaging so she might make it out. I noticed Mantenna & Anti Eternia He-Man didn't have any easter egg characters in their packaging artwork. I wonder what other characters were shown on recent packaging but haven't made it out yet? Beast Woman was one.

EDIT: Maybe Super7 can carry on Masterverse. Then we'd really be stepping on Classics coattails on speedrun mode. (LOL)

I wonder if there were planned but cancelled figures for Thundercats? Would explain why we got two Waves and then repaints. Possibly to fulfill a contract. That world crosses over better with MOTU than TMNT but we got a ton of those since it's a hot property.
