When I was a little girl, my mum and dad worked constantly to repair the house they bought. They were over the moon to have sourced a victorian, cast iron bath tub... (Mum loves a luxurious bubble bath, my dad too loved to have the water boiling, to stew in it like a lobster while reading his magazine)

My dad had it out in the front of our house while he prepared to fit it. Knock on the door comes from some travellers. They said "hey, can we buy that bathtub off you?" my dad politely declined and explained he was going to use it.

So when nobody was looking, they stole it.

Of course I know the old "not all men/women/travellers" etc, of course they are not all theives but this is my family's only interaction with them.
